Transformers Takara 2010 Unicron MIB lot | eBay Shipping is about $130 more than the other auctions for the same item, something you can actually report a seller for. Your thoughts? The auction is from Canada. And when I put in zip for shipping it says $47 to US. Considering the size of the box, and the fact it will be international, I don't know what to tell ya. I don't know what it costs to ship something that big overseas.
oh ya, it's canadian which is why it's cheaper for me. maybe you've never dealt with canada post before. they are expensive. it cost me $17 to ship a tiny little box to the USA with a tracking number. this was less than a pound.
Doesn't seem unusual. It's international to anyone outside of Canada, coupled with the size and weight of the package.
Wait... the Seller set up the auction to auto calculate the shipping after the user enters their country/zipcode/postal code. Last time I checked there wasn't an option to add a "gouging fee" to the cost derived by the shipping calculator. According to that auction it would cost about $50 shipped to me in the US (insured and trackable). According to the auction description the seller is shipping stuff overseas (i.e. to Sweeden) via "Canada Post express mail" That's one of the most expensive options to ship stuff internationally from Canada IIRC, because it's trackable and there's extra cost for insurance. As for the shipping cost from your POL, that's shipping from the US. Is it being shipped via UPS, Fedex or USPS International? My guess is USPS International as it's typically the cheapest way to ship things internationally from the US. International shipping is expensive period.
Yeah, that is why it was so awesome when Amazon did free shipping on Unicron! That thing is the heaviest TFer I have.
I don't know what to tell you. As has been pointed out, Canadian shipping is expensive by default. International shipping, especially if it's to another continent (coupled with the size and the weight of the package), is going to cost a lot.
It was fair on the US end, in terms of price. The only way to tell is by finding other items in canada. It looks like that cost is automatically generated.
Just out of curioisity, what shipping methods does BBTS offer international buyers? Since I'm in the U.S., I only see UPS and USPS as options for me.
