Funny thing is, I got the offer in my regular email and decided to try it out. Code did not work. Was kind of a dick move for them to send me a regular email about it and not through my Ebay inbox.

I'm guessing they sent the code to you by mistake. Perhaps they realized the mistake before it was sent to your Ebay inbox.
    I feel you, though.

I hate to bump this thread, but...

As a tip, when the seller is not an individual, I've started to search Google for an actual web store. In many cases, said store exists, often with no tax. Some weird stores charge more for shipping, or charge more for the item, but I've not run into many of those.

But even when the seller is an individual, I've fished them on whether they also offer items on Facebook/etc. "Nice stuff, I'm interested in a few things. Is this all you have? I know some people list things on others sites." It's complete BS, but it's a loophole for eBay policy against making deals in messages. I do not break the rule here. Now the response may break the rule "I have more stuff on Amazon as user blahblahblah", but not my problem. Unlikely to get caught anyway.

Maybe if more of us start avoiding eBay, the flash sales will happen more again? ;)

I originally posted this in the discussion thread, but it’s still a potential deal for those of us who want to risk the chance of an annoying phone call for the possibility of receiving the discount.

For anybody else who received the $15 off $75 x3 email yesterday:

If you don’t see the same offer in “My Messages” on eBay, you were apparently sent the email by mistake (as happened to me).

There is a thread regarding the problem on SlickDeals. Someone called eBay and said that he had a coupon that they had sent to his email. They said that no, they hadn’t. Someone else who called in got a $15 coupon for their trouble. Another person received a $15 coupon yesterday and the promise of two more today. The rest who called in and posted their results in the thread got nothing.

Up to you if it’s worth the time to try, as it all depends on the CSR you get (and whether eBay sent out a memo telling the CSRs not to give away any more money).

Yeah no dice here either after all. TRIPLETHRILL? More like TROLOLOLOL.

I did however get another 10% eBay bucks offer (no min). Which again, just barely covers the tax for me now, so um ... yay?

This Triplethrill code is confusing. Do you get the fifteen dollars back after using the code three times, for a cumulative total of $75+? Or do you get it three times if you make three purchases over $75?

What a weirdly complicated code. Who thought that was a good idea? I don't know if I'll even bother with it, not worth the trouble.

Well if it was working, it is for 3 separate transactions: get $15 off a single $75 purchase, use up to 3 times. But, read above, most likely it was a mistake so it probably won't work anyway.

Gotcha. Sounds like a rollicking success on eBay's part all-around....

    Thanks!

Any ebay expert shoppers answer for me? the 10% bucks thing, can you activate it, make a purchase...then buy more stuff within the promotion window and have it still work or is it just towards one cart? Thanks!

You ‘need’ to embrace the giving spirit of the holidays. But have no fear, since I’m one of the many that this code doesn’t seem to work for, I’ll be generous enough to ALLOW you to use it on my behalf.

This coupon sounds reminiscent of the old school flash sales that preceded the 15% off & 20% off ones we got in 2018. So, feel free to go to baba’s $5 off $70 purchase page, get an item in the $80-range and have it shipped to me. :)  Consider my benevolence an act along the lines of a ‘ghost of Christmas xyz’ in that I’m bringing some things to your attention so that you can make positive actions in response.

    You’re welcome!

    :D

Curious to know if anyone on these boards has gotten the $15 code(s) to work AND gotten the bonus eBay bucks deal this time around.

I got the code in the email but it didn't work. So I complained to customer service and they were able to give me one time $15 off coupon. I used that plus the bonus ebay bucks to buy KFC opticlones.

Okay, no more discussion bumps... folks should only be posting if an actual discount code comes up.
