I purchased a G1 Roadbuster off of eBay a couple days ago. It was advertised as the following:

    • 100% Complete
    • Never opened
    • MIB
    • Roadbuster still sealed to board

Everything seemed fine. The figure itself is still sealed to the bubble and all the parts are still brand new/unused. The outer box was beat up and was only sealed on one end which the seller did show in his pictures.

The problem itself lies that the accessory bag had a long cut where all the parts were exposed. Everything was inside except for the rarest piece which is the elusive antenna. I thought maybe it fell out in the shipping box etc., but I have searched the Roadbuster box, the shipping box and even within the packing material with no luck at all.

I paid $299 Buy-It-Now for this item since I wanted a virtually brand new piece that I could display loose/complete. I know loose/complete Roadbusters go for $150-$200 but was gladly willing to pay a premium to have one in this unused condition. I've seen the antennas go for as much as $60 on eBay separately and in average condition.

So my question to my fellow boardies is, what action do you recommend I take?

basically you have two options which neither are really great...option #1 you can contact the seller and sent pictures showing the condition of the accessory bag and tell him that it is missing parts....

or option 2 is file a not as described claim via ebay which will basically result in you mailing the item back to the seller and getting your $$$ back.

I was going to say basically the same thing. Just do it soon though! Don't spend days thinking about it, since it makes matters worse.

You would be in your rights to refund it but....

The seller may not know about the antenna because it is such a minor part. The first time I got an antenna for this toys I didn't even know it was supposed to exist, it just fell out and I almost binned it thinking it was some part of a sprue. So if you are happy with the purchase in every other way maybe you could live without it?

Will the cost of shipping it back and the risk of some other future problem make it worth seeking a refund on the purchase.

    Did you discuss the antenna?

Just personally, I would ask the seller about it. If he can't find it I would ask for a $50 refund. If he does not find it or give some money back leave neutral feedback and mention a missing part.

See if the seller has the part. If not, request a refund on exchange for sending Roadbuster back. If they don't seem to be willing to do either, file a claim with eBay.

    Ebay:
It is not attached to the gun? I won an eBay auction. Seller said it was missing antennae. But it was actually attached to the gun. Win.

Did you mean the rangefinder? That's the only thing I can see that attaches to the gun. I checked the rifle and the jeep cannon but didn't find the antenna there. :(

I would love to have a minty G1 Roadbuster, even without the accessories. I have a thing for the figures Takatoku designed. I would keep it, fuck the antenna.

    So my options are:

    1. Hope the seller has the antenna and can replace it.
    2. Ask for a full refund and send it back.
    3. Ask for a partial refund (if seller agrees) and keep it.
    4. Keep it regardless of the missing antenna.

I figure I probably won't run into a minty G1 Roadbuster in this condition for a long long time (if ever) unless I obtain another sealed piece or crack open an AFA graded piece. Even the paperwork and stickers are still sealed so I would have the opportunity of putting original fresh stickers on this guy and not even have to resort to getting stickers from Reprolabels or TFstickers, etc.

My dilemma is paying $300 too much to accept having a 99% complete but super mint spot-on C-10 Roadbuster?

Yeah, I would ask for a small partial refund... politely.

Keep it, I say. Id love to get my mits on an MIB unused Roadbuster, regardless of the missing minor piece. 99% complete parts still counts for something!

You may want to consider getting some KO stickers and selling off what you have - a couple of sellers on eBay think they're worth 60+. The sealed sticker, instructions could net you more too. That could almost be enough to buy replacement stickers and an antenna.

Contact the seller, politely explain the situation, ask if he has the item, if not, request a $60.00 partial refund so you can replace it.

my advice is as thus if you can live with out it or are willing too look for one your self ask for a small refund $30- $50

if you just can't and he does not have it which is most likely full refund.

honestly the missing antenna would not bug me at all.
