Hey there. This is my first post on Radicons. I mostly wanted to share this as I found it really simple to do and I really like the end result.

So I missed out on seige Skywarp. Dont know how but it was there one week and gone the next. As I like the trio I was bummed until I saw Hotlink. After analyzing my starscream I got a second Thundercracker and disassembled him. Then I took Hotlink, disassembled him and took all the paint off with the soak in alcohol trick. Took the light grey parts from Thundercracker and put them on Hotlink. Painted some details on the chest plate black. Masked off what I wanted to paint purple and painted with testors purple gloss with a touch of testors white to get a close match to Hotlinks purple plastic. Let him dried then reassembled him. Ta-da !
I was disappointed to find that Hotlink is more a charcoal grey than black but it still works for me. I beleive the less paint on a custom the better, but let me know what you all think.

It's almost like Hotlink was released so people who missed Skywarp the first go-round got a second chance at a "well, close enough" version.

Awesome job! Looks like an official toy that came new out of the packaging to me.

awesome. My suggestion. Paint the lower legs and wings black and you have the perfect Blackout (G2 cancelled seeker)

You could make that unreleased G2 Blackout figure that was unveiled a while back

That's a good idea. The blue at the joints and seams would work to.

Lol Blackout. What you did was cool but now I want to see a blackout and whiteout to balance things out.

Dude, that looks great! I love it because with the parts swapping and minor touch ups, it looks official.

If I was talented enough to construct a head for her I would do it in a heartbeat.
