It's frustrating when there is an obvious repaint or retool possibility that Hasbro/Takara completely misses. I'll run through 4 of them here:

1) Hyperdrive

This guy was the unproduced Supreme Commander of the Autobots during the late G1 era, as soon only through the lens of Skyquake's scope.



He could have been a great candidate to repaint the Legends God Bomber/Ginrai for the US market.




2) The Alligaticon

In the G1 episode, Optimus Prime's head is removed, and the Decepticons rebuild his body into an Alligator.

Perfect repaint potential from the TR Skullcruncher body and TR Optimus Prime Titan Master.





3) Universe Soundwave

ER Doubledealer even has the chest to hold cassettes! Bonus points if they can retool the bird mode into a bat mode to also homage BW Soundwave!





4) Magnificus and Ga'Mede

Magnificus is known for partnering with a human. What better repaint than TR Perceptor? Magnficus would have a Ga'Mede Titan Master with the G1 Perceptor toy head, which would also allow you to give TR Perceptor his toy head, too.

On top of that, I would have loved a POTP Oil Master Pretender shell front.

 

They already did a Legacy Magnificus. I doubt they'll revisit that any time soon.

 

Sunstorm. Always Sunstorm

 

I just want a G2 Starsceam from the ER mold please.

 

Ruination from CW Bruticus. Takara did it as an exclusive but the western world needs one too.

Mirage into Skid-Z

 

Yes, that's what's so frustrating. They repainted SS86 Perceptor instead of TR Perceptor, which would have given him his buddy Ga'Mede as a Titan Master, and also given fans the ability to make G1-toy-head TR Perceptor.

 

Pointblank from Punch\Counterpunch seemed inevitable until it was repainted as Punch\Counterpunch.

 

G2 Ransack from RTS lugnut with the alt head so GDO Powedive wouldn't be alone.

 

I'm hoping that we get a two pack of Robot Masters Road Rocket and Doubleface since we finally had the right bots for them.

Cryotek from Megatron is still way overdue, perhaps they are waiting for the Legacy line to end before re-using that or is there some trademark reasons for why they cannot use the name?

Stepper/Ricochet from SS86 Jazz is an easy redeco too, I'm surprised they haven't done him since that mold have been redecoed a few times already.

Sunstorm and Cryotek. Genuinely cannot understand how we’ve had so many Seeker molds in recent years, the ugly ass rainmakers and we still haven’t gotten a Sunstorm.

Drag Strip from BB Arcee.

 

The lack of Sunstorm from the Siege Seeker mold is vexing and a bit of a head-scratcher. He'd be an easy repaint and easy money. C'mon HasTak.....milk that mold one last time.

Actually, make that two more times. We need a Bitstream from it too.

Blast from Earthrise Thrust.

Blackout from ER Starscream

Slipstream from Siege or ER Starscream. I don't dislike the upcoming Legacy Slipstream, but when I think Slipstream, I think Seeker, not Windblade repaint.

Glyph from Netflix Bumblebee or ER Cliffjumper. Bee would be best, but I'd settle for Cliffjumper.

Ricochet from SS86 Jazz

Ultra Magnus from ER Optimus Prime. I like ER Prime, and I wish Kingdom Ultra Magnus had been an armored-up white Optimus. But I would have settled for just the inner bot.

Cryotek from Legacy TM2 Megatron. Originally, I wouldn't have cared, and I wasn't even going to get TM2 Megatron, but after I got him on sale I ended up liking him a lot more than I thought I would. Now I think a Cryotek from him would be nice.

 

I'd take one last outing from the venerable Skullgrin mold as an inner-shell Bludgeon, redecoed from the Quake retool.

 

Do I even wanna start with all the Bayverse SS figures?

 

One of my most obscure TF wants is a deluxe Junkion from the 86 Arcee mold simply because of this ONE shot

 

That's got "Amazon 2-Pack" written allover it.

 

Even the 3P legends people didn't do Optimus in that color and they do some real WTF color schemes.
