If the strike lasts for even two to three weeks, how will this affect getting figures (assuming that that west coast is unable to pick up the slack) ?

Could we be looking at a temporary shortage or even empty shelves before a large glut of product later on ?

Possibly. I'm not sure but I think most Hasbro toys, which are made in either China or Vietnam, come to the West coast ports. Then they're trucked to the east. If so, then it will have little effect IMHO.

Im more worried about the shortages of fruits veggies and other essentials than toys. Trying to slow down collecting anyway.

God forbid any of us exercise patience if it does impact stuff. Likelihood, slim as the strike is mostly just effecting the east coast and gulf. Most of our collectibles come through the west coast. But, if stuff is rerouted causing delays, again, so we have to wait. It's not the worst thing in the world. I mean, HasLab Omega Prime won't be out until possibly winter next year even though the campaign was earlier this year in the spring. What's a few weeks or months. I'm more concerned with food and necessary supplies we used everyday than toys.

Aren’t store shelves already empty for toys anyways? At least they are around here. So business as normal for Target and Wal-Mart.

Seems like I’m always two waves ahead when stuff finally manages to hit one Target in my area out of 7 regardless.

I can wait on toys, as long as they're stored in safe and dry conditions and don't mold or yellow or anything

Transformers will probably be unaffected, as they come from the west coast ports, not east coast...

However things like grocery's, clothes, and other essentials are a bigger concern...

IIRC most of Hasbro's stuff comes in through the West Coast, mainly through Long Beach and LA. A substantial amount of imports have also been shifted to the west coast months in advance in preperation.

i'd say worry about the stuff that really matters, like food and clothes that come through the east coast/from europe. Plus i'm sure this will only make aid for hurricane helene harder to distribute.

I think we're going to have bigger worries than toys. Sure, it'll suck, but I don't think this bodes well. There will definitely be delays and whatnot.

That's good, figured something would happen considering how bad this would even up being for everyone in the country, hopefully we don't get to the point where it happens fully again.

A recent article analysts estimated for each day they stike, it will back up the ports a week.

So if the strike just goes one week, things won’t be back to normal until December or longer.

so now we're dealing with three weeks of backup. Will be interesting to see how that effects things.

The strike is over anyway, announced yesterday

Even then the more important thing is people getting paid what they deserve.

It's not over. It's delayed until after the January 15 so as not to mess or back stuff up any more than they already will be by the three days alone. But the delay allows them to work while still working on a reasonable contract for wages and job security vs automation.

Yup, they need too make $250k a year! Who can live on only $150k?!

Sorry, there job is not hard enough, skilled enough, or dangerous enough to deserve the $69 / hour they want.
