He needs his gun, but otherwise he is awesome.

Target notification popped and I was fast and lucky enough to hit the buttons before it went away. Scorponok ordered and estimated to arrive late next week. So damn excited. This guy has been on the list since 1986 when my new Fortress Maximus didn’t have anyone to battle.

My wife is going to kill me.

Lord, this guy gives me some nostalgic feels....

Sure, it took 33 years, but we finally have an answer to the problem of G1 Scorponok topping off at the height of Fort Max's crotch. The size, the sculpt, the double headmaster feature....this feels like an updated version of what the OG wanted to be all along. This is Scorponok from "The Rebirth" in the plastic.

Materials and build seem sturdy enough. In hand, he's a good deal lighter than I expected, however wouldn't say that's a bad thing. Despite his size, he's an easy bot to pick up, toss around and manipulate between modes.

Bot, alt mode and base modes are all aces. I'm not really having the difficulties others have reported, either. The head stays on just fine and while they're not the best ratchets in the world, the shoulder joints are proving adequate to the task.

Overall, one of the better giant purple robot scorpions on the market today.

I feel like he should have come with 4 sets of cannons instead of just 2.

got mine a couple days ago from a Target. :)

Finally collected mine and I’m impressed! I really like his height and size - not as tall as either Fort Max or Metroplex but his bulk gives him an impression of strength?

Unfortunately, this can’t help but maje me feel that Tryticon is undersized.

Anyway, a must-have for G1 fans - especially those who love city TFs!

So I cancelled my hasbropulse preorder when bbts got him instock. His right arm ratchet is nonexistent and three panels on his claw aren’t painted. Unreal. I really don’t want to return it but the unpainted panels are going to bother the hell out of me especially at what this guy costs.

Big. Beefy. Bad ass. If I had to make a complaint , it would be some soft ratchets in his left arm. Besides that, no issues. Even my wife was impressed.....until she asked the price!

    Finally opened Scorponok today!

Love it, extremely faithful to the Headmasters cartoon!

Now, it isn’t all roses, I think the figure could use the following improvements:

stronger arm ratchet joints; Scorponok can’t hold his enemies :(

    More cannons! Shape-ways please :)

The shield seems small; I’d buy a 3rd party upgrade.

Beyond that, if you have any attachment to the character, this should be an easy purchase.

I wasn't sure about getting this guy, because I generally don't like Headmasters.

    20200801_211846.jpg

I'll get this out of the way: I don't have Fort Max, and this was one of the reasons that I hesitated to purchase ER Scorponok. However, I am really glad that I got him. You could even say that he's grown on me in the few days since he came from BBTS.

    20200801_163837.jpg

The base mode is a little boring by itself, although it is nice and solid. Getting there from robot or scorpion mode is pretty easy. I daresay that he's easier to convert than T30 Metroplex, TR Trypticon, or Siege Omega Supreme. Hooking up other ER bases to it makes it cooler. If you deploy the scorpion legs out to the sides as the G1 toy did, you get a beefier base and a secret compartment that can be either be storage or a prison cell.

    20200801_160942.jpg

The scorpion mode is neat, but it's not the biggest beast mode we've gotten. TR Trypticon would like a word with anyone who believes that - looking at you, TfWiki. Scorponok's creature (I feel weird calling a scorpion a beast) mode is flatter, wider, and more spread out than TR Trypticon's daikaiju dinosaur mode, but I honestly think that they are roughly the same size and weight. Still, the scorpion mode is large and imposing, and you can use some of the panels to cover most of the hollowness in his tail.

    20200801_161017.jpg

    20200801_223137.jpg

The robot mode is exactly what you would want from Scorponok. Big claws for hands, lots of articulation, and of course his head comes off.

    20200801_213317.jpg

I call the Deluxe-ish sized Headmaster Mega-Zarak. I don't remove the orange mandibles on his arms to put on his back because I don't like what seems like unnecessary part-forming. Scorponok already has plenty of part-forming with his main conversion.

    20200801_215504.jpg

    20200801_215031.jpg

The little Titanmaster by himself is Lord Zarak to me. While he is a double Head/ Titanmaster, you don't need Lord Zarak attached to Mega-Zarak, a.k.a. Scorponok's robot head, in order to attach it to Scorponok's body.

    20200801_215523.jpg

One of the nicest surprises was that I don't have to remove his head for any of his three modes. I could just forget about the Headmaster feature altogether, though I suppose I'm the only one who cares about that. He also comes with three fireblasts that are identical to Siege Jetfire's.

    20200801_164105.jpg

    20200801_164012.jpg

The negatives are that he doesn't come with his big orange gun, or any radar dishes or sensors to trick out the base mode. The base also lacks the elevator lift that the G1 toy had. Maybe getting his drone Fasttrack later this year will provide some more parts to spice up his base mode as well as give him a spear weapon in robot mode. He needs two more double cannons, to go on top of his robot shins in scorpion mode. The Zarak Shield seems a bit too small, even with the parts from his legs to bulk it up.

    20200801_212852.jpg

Still, the positives outweigh the negatives. He's a nice big and solid toy for the money. I'm not worried about any parts falling off like I am about Metroplex, Trypticon, or Omega Supreme. Definitely a recommended buy if you can afford it.

I found this pic on a FB group, apparently you can find the files to 3D print these on PrintFormers:

Makes me wish that I had a 3D printer. Unfortunately I don't even have access to the one at the local public library, which is closed due to the pandemic.

How do they work in alt modes or are they a robot mode only thing?

I was assuming your man there has repainted 'em for a bit more G1 colour layout in scorpion mode?

Ah, it just looked odd since the heels seem to still be green.

Maybe it's been done with a side of Siege-style "battle damage" application because it only required more grey at the front for the aesthetic?

I have been following this guy’s reviews for a good while but have not completely combed through them all so forgive me if it’s been asked:

How many Titanmaster ports does this guy have in total?
