Haven't seen an existing thread for this yet, so I'll drop a quick review and photo gallery below. Please excuse the makeshift nature of the backdrop: he's way too big for my usual photo box!

First impressions? He's visually impressive, the green/purple really pop and he's crammed with lots of molded details. He doesn't come with any stickers but there's sufficient paint apps, at least to my taste. More importantly, he looks the part: this is Scorponok. Sure, some of us (myself included) would have preferred a Commander class version, but he doesn't feel wrong as a Titan either.

After a couple of hours play time, he feels very solid. His shoulder ratchets are a little soft and one claw is a bit loose, but he can still hold a Voyager class figure with no major issues. Those claws are remarkably poseable too, with both fingers and thumb moving independently.

Transformation to scorpion mode is simple and intuitive. The scorpion legs could arguably do with more articulation but - even with their limitations - they can be posed to make them appear more dynamic than they actually are. The only other down side is the obviously hollow tail, but I can live with that.

There's a small compartment for the Titanmaster in his chest compartment. Would have been nicer somewhere more visible, like the head, but again it's a minor gripe.

Base mode is similarly straightforward yet effective. Whilst the central ramp adds some fun and you can connect more bases using the side ramps, it doesn't have the play value of other Titan bases. Trypticon and Omega Supreme offer more for Titanmasters and Micromasters to interact with and feel more city-like: Scorponok feels like a Decepticon throne room. And I think that's cool in it's own way. There's no denying that Lord Zarak looks badass when "sat" on his throne.

(Cheated in that last pic as he's sat on a PotP hand.)

Zarak himself is nice looking with a great old school headsculpt. The chest is a little plain, despite some nice sculpted detail, but otherwise they've done a good job of hiding what he transforms into. This does involve partsforming, moving the antennae from his arms to his back. Otherwise, he's nicely articulated, including ankle tilts. He isn't armed, but I guess he gets his main body do the fighting for him.

Let me know if you want to know about any particular details/pictures or comparisons (as best I can manage)?

    Cheers and thanks for reading!

I personally like how there's finally a Scorponok toy that can stand eye to eye with Fortress Maximus - or at least eye to neck, which is close enough.

You gonna paint the face? I've been dying to see what it looks like with the proper color

Out of curiosity what do you consider the "proper" colour? Because the G1 toy had a silver face, just within a bone/ivory-coloured helmet.

I wish his legs were more hollow and could open up for some TM and MM play. Besides the lacking base he looks amazing!

Can the front purple platforms be raised in a way that mimics the old G1 orange cradle elevating platform?

Okay, so this literally opened up some potential for smol bots to have fun. One variant is this, which is nice but won't support much weight. You can always plug one of the detachable panels to the front for support but it don't look great.
    20200708_154006-01.jpeg

The second configuration is a lot more stable and adds a nice tower/helipad to the mix.
    20200708_154916-01.jpeg

Now, it strikes me that you can also mistransform the base so his foot doesn't retract into his leg, which gives you even more space to play with! I think we're getting somewhere!
    20200708_172135-01.jpeg

Oh and you can add his cannons to the new tower so they can, you know, actually shoot at something!

    It's gotta be done...

Position 2 and/or transitioning to it is exactly what I had in mind! This pleases me greatly.

    But THIS:
Absolute slice of fried gold genius served with a diamond bullet to the forehead right here - the vertical foot even looks like a heavy blast doored doorway!

It's weird how few ports there are for guns in the base mode, considering that's one of the gimmicks of this line.

Weird. Metroplex is practically covered in them, Fort Max somehow has less, Trypticonnfewer AND less useful and now Scorp with so few.
Are many of the screw holes sized to be 5mm?

Come on Has/Tak. They’re literally just holes; they save you money!

Just out of curiosity how does the hand work as a chair, also which hand in particular? (I know they're pretty much all the same) I like the look of Zarak on a throne very much.

I'm in two minds on Scorponok, I'm in the crowd that wishes he was Prime wars leader size or Commander class but it was inevitable that he'd end up a titan. I'll probably get him when he becomes available at Smyths and will greatly enjoy him but my Fort Max is Infinitor in my collection and they'll be grossly out of scale with one another.

It's truly bizarre. See those holes on the platform where Shuffler is placed? Not a single one of them is 5mm... o_O

MY Scorponok has a yellow face, as in the Marvel comics. As long as there’s no paint rubbing, I’ll probably paint mine. And I almost NEVER paint my figures.

Well, now, translating that into a yellow gold on the toy is actually quite a tempting redeco possibility for me!
