So recently I've been going through the nightmare that is the Earthrise Seekers. Absolutely great figure and I love the mold to death but holy shit on all the seekers i have managed to get my hands on they ALL have issues with at least one of the wings.

they just fall right off at the snap clip when going through the movements for transformation.

I've not heard of this problem at all really myself so maybe I've just managed to hit the shitty QC lottery.

So far I have had this issue affect Thundercracker, Skywarp and THREE different Starscreams

anyway these images should speak for themselves

I cut a small piece of styrene and wedged it into the clip to prevent it from compressing and allowing the wing to fall off.

Make sure the width of the wedge is JUST BARELY larger than the hole to add extra fricton to the rotation movment.

DONT use styrene that is thicker than the gap in the clip head. you dont want the clip to spread further appart, you are just preventing it from compressing. (sorry i dont know the thickness of the styrene i used, just pulled it out of some scraps i had and noticed it was perfectly thick enough to fit in the gap.)

No glue needed, just friction will hold it in and once you put the wing back together you wont even be able to see it.

The wings on all my seekers are now ROCK SOLID to the point they might as well have been pinned on.

I thankfully haven't had that issue yet with Starscream but I have had that issue with Swoop and had to use glue. I'll use that fix next time though.

This looks like it may be a good fix for the ugly visible mushroom peg wheels like on Earthrise Smokescreen, etc.

    Does styrene take paint well?

don't know, never painted it. but ive seen plenty of people build entirely out of the stuff so i would imagine it does. if your only doing a little area like that I probably wont matter much.

Styrene takes paint well. I'd recommend primer, though.
