I guess suggesting the ole' "ring someone else up" trick is considering bad etiquette, eh?
and there’s some error that’s also stopping other leaders too. They really need to fix it
I am not going to condone scanning another toy, but putting ethics aside...these statements are not accurate. The problem is that Target gives entire waves the same DCPI, as opposed to an individual one for each figure. So it won't inaccurately decrease the count or cause someone to drive up their thinking they have it...well it might, but that's the risk we have been taking for years now. If they have 6 shockwaves, 2 primes, and 1 astrotrain and get in 2 double dealers, then the system just shows 11 leader class figures. If someone buys one, then it just shows 10 leader class figures, it doesn't incorrectly skew the count. Still a crapshoot is you are looking online at brickseek or whatever.
This just happened recently with the cyberverse BAF figures, when the 2nd wave got entered into the system with a street date, you could no longer buy the first wave at the store, because they had the same DCPI. If Target REALLY wanted to fix these kinds of issues...they would give each figure its own unique DCPI, or at the very least each wave would have one.
Come to think of it, I wonder with they don't individualize the DCPIs for each wave, they already do this for most of the marvel legends waves.
im more interested in the donuts...says a lot about me lol
They do though, at least if you're trying to buy them online. But what I'm saying is it's possible they started street-date locking entire assortments precisely because people were swapping items at the checkout.
(And sure, maybe someone here is "ethically" scanning a leader figure...but I could easily see other people arguing for "ethically" scanning something that's the same price but a completely different item.)
I can't argue there, it aint like figure swapping/part stealing isn't a thing in this and many other fandoms.
I found Double Dealer at my local Target this morning. Street Date is set to September 1st and is embedded in the POS, so employees can't do anything about it.
I did notice that Hasbro Pulse has a release date listed for 9/1. Anyone think Hasbro has an agreement with brick & mortar retailers not the release Doubledealer until 9/1 so that none of them release it before Hasbro Pulse?
I believe that Hasbro and the B&M stores have that agreement. On the other hand, we've already seen people getting shipped notices from Amazon.com.
Right? The horribly inconsistent and often inaccurate cartoon should never be considered ''more canon'' than the toys themselves. The errors people latch onto is baffling, at times.
Get him for 42 off Amazon. Should also ship before Target's date.
No, as Amazon is sending mine by the end of July and Walmart was selling Siege GUOP while Target was locked down.
My guess, and again, this is all conjecture, is that whatever is locking the figure to Sept 1 is likely tied to the PO system. I think at some point last year they were redoing their entire online system (it caused a ton of headache with employees in stores as the app was mismatched telling people all kinds of things were either in store or in certain aisles they were super not).
At that point, I would wager whatever ties the PO to the 9/1 date is locking the item at POS. That's why it's exclusively Target's problem.
Yeah I think we as a fan community should absolutely discourage that type of behavior. Because if anyone at the store saw you doing that they'd rightly throw you out.
PO = Pissed Off or Post Office.
POS = Piece Of Shit.
GUOP = ?????
Got mine today they had to scan astrotrain
Out of curiosity did Optimus Prime scan through with no issue?
POS in this case is "point of sale". As in, the cash register.
I thought people were saying Prime had the same issue, so maybe the specific case/wave is being locked? Because Prime is Dealer's wave mate, right?
I got them from a Super Wal-mart but that was a while ago.
Huh, so Astrotrain rang up fine?
Separate names with a comma.
