Agreed. Imagine if they did it as an exclusive release or something, like the 35th anniversary Optimus, Megatron, Bluestreak and Soundblaster- 4-5 cool redecos of existing figures, maybe with some badass “TRANSFORMERS DIACLONE” packaging.

Masterpiece is seperate entity from the mainline stuff and made by Takaratomy exclusively. Id say we're good.

 

Hero Optimus prime is white and paired with the purple hero megatron, combat hero Optimus prime is blue and paired with tiger stripe combat hero megatron

No, but the weebs will keep buying it SOLELY because it's a JP product and inherently better for their otaku cred.

I really would like to see the Throttebots done. Anyone that ever appeared in the g1 Animation continuity is what I buy for my kids. Usually nothing else ( there is exceptions though here and there )

 

They could have easily finished them. 5 out of the 6 could have been repaints of the Bee mold. Chase/Roadburn was a good start, and you could easily see how you could get Goldbug, Searchlight, Freeway, and even Rollbar out of that mold. Wideload was the big question, but a little revisionist imagining as an orange Rollbar would fix that and at least get them finished.

What do I know, though? I'm still waiting on them to finish remolding the Insecticons into the Deluxe Insecticons and maybe finishing out the Diaclone repaints.

 

I was just trying not to go overboard.  

 

I've certainly stopped buying Masterpiece because
1) Generations has been giving us great versions of the characters I like
2) Masterpiece has gone downhill with their attempts to make the robots look so much like the cartoon that it hurts the actual figure quality.

 

Not with figures being miscolored is still acceptable.

There has to be more of an incentive besides blue eyes for you to buy the inevitable cartoon repaint.

 

That would be a move. Especially since the ultimate goal for most G1 fans is to have the most show accurate take on their favorite characters.
