Simple, but fun. I like it and wish more were that accessible.

Two things I wish it had - I wish the robot hands folded away in beasty mode, even if the arms still stick to the sides. Also, I wish the spear weapon had an extra peg on the side, so the monster mode could store the weapon on its back.

The spear has a slot that connects to a rectangular peg on the monster's back. It shows it in the instructions, but here's a post from earlier in the thread showing him with two pegged on:

It's great to see these guys get official mainline releases. Long overdue imo.

By golly it does. I guess I was focusing a bit too much on the large obvious peg hole on the back.

I think a side peg on the spear would be a smidge more versatile though. :)

This is how I transform him into beast mode. Using the ankle tilt and placing one foot a touch forward you can get him to stand in a somewhat stable stance.
I watched the Killing Jar while I opened him and my Quintesson. I thought he was larger, but it seems he is shorter than Wreck-Garr, so this probably is an accurate height for him after all.
Rewatching the episode kind of made me come to terms with his flaws. He does look very accurate in bot mode. I swing his beast mode up in bot mode.
The exposed robot mode arms in beast mode suck, but I can ignore them most times.
The main flaw he has IMO is the way the legs are constructed for beast mode and the fact the beast head can't look up.
A nice first chug Allicon figure with several rather severe flaws that I found I can live with.

Ok ...Alicon....for the most part he's good, but a couple of things keep him from being great to me, and it's not his lack of transformation accuracy. His bot mode hands really should have been able to fold into his forearm so his hands wouldn't just be...there in gator mode, and I also still think those gator arms would've been better placed onto his bot mode shoulders with a ball joint, so they could not only be positioned behind his bot mode arms in bot mode, but they would've been better placed in gator mode as well.

I'm still hoping some 3rd party group makes an upgrade kit with bot mode arms that can be replced at his bicep, that have fold in hands as well as new gator arms that can be plugged into his shoulders. Other than those two things, he's a good first attempt for an official Alicon.

I like it. No, it's not perfect but, it's really good. I'm not an army builder but......maybe.

This image makes me not want to buy him now. That's too tiny for a Deluxe price point.

They are tall and skinny. He is shorter and fatter. It evens out. He is bigger in person.

I am loving this guy. Fun to pick up and play with. Simple to transform. Easily my favorite of the wave.

Feels like this guy's gonna be the "underrated pick" for people looking back on the ER Line, this guy's plenty fun even if you aren't collecting the Quintessons (pray that the deluxe Gnaw rumor for SS86 is real...). Only real nitpicks I have for him are:
    • Gator arms could've been worked in better... also soft plastic.
    • Tail weapon could've been stored better, feels too loose in its storage area.
    • Head automorph makes it so that the head doesn't really "lock in".
Keep in mind that the size is no longer really a factor... moreso just how the plastic is managed. In this case, there's tons of detailing and he's hefty for his size. If size were a factor, then the Cliffjumper mold wouldn't even be in this line.

I think the reason they did it that was was for two reasons. One, spikes, and not wanting kids to get gauged on them, and two, the arms are small and spindly, and possibly were breaking during stress testing. So, instead of just making the spikes on the arms soft, they made the whole arm soft to reduce cost and prevent breakage.

put a cup of water in the microwave to boil it,
pop the head off and put it in the water for 30 seconds should straighten the plastic out or make it softer for you to straighten it yourself, put in cold water after to cool the plastic down,

Heat gun is much faster and safer. Super thin may need 200F, otherwise 250F is fine. Try to focus air on just the fin. When the fin gets relatively soft, then bend to proper place and let cool down. Repeat as needed.

Also works fine for warped hard plastic, which is what I did to fix the split tail on the Baliff from not having the tail blade plug in right.
