All that effort photoshopping, and you couldn't rotate it 90 degrees? :'D
(I'm kidding, but it's a little funny to me)

Here's my guess at what the next crossover figure will be, one of the 007/James Bond, Aston Martins.

If we\'re getting soundwave, that must mean Blaster isn\'t far behind

either way Maverick is still better than my little prime

Top Gun and Ghostbusters both just had new movies as well as 80s movies. So what other properties are currently being remade/sequeled? 007 (just mentioned) is a good one/fits the pattern. If only this had been going on when they redid Ateam.

Edit* Akira! There are rumors of a live version in the works. Kineda's bike would be perfect!

Godzilla, I would like to see a Beast Transformers in the crossovers. But they will most likely stink with vehicles.

Tron would be amazing. Light cycles. That car from the newer movie. Or the plane.

There would be no rights issues with power rangers because hasbro owns the IP 100%, they outright bought it from saban. They’ll still adapt sentai footage, but that’s it

Yeah, Hasbro is notorious for pulling this type of stunt. That’s what they did with the Star Wars 3 3/4 figures in the past...just to suck in collectors in buying the same figure with “differences”.

I would probably enjoy a comic book adaptation more than I enjoyed Top Gun.

Take the plot of the movie and mix with The Girl Who Loved Powerglide. Maverick as an Autobot who joins the USAF as some kind of joint ops. Set it in Sunbow in 1986 as a conjectural Season 2.5 episode where Wheeljack revives an Ark crew member who joins the USAF even as humans begin joint-construction of Autobot City.

Blitzwing and the coneheads as the hostile jets. Maybe a nod to Astoria Ritz-Carlton and Powerglide with Charlie about how tricky relationships between 50 foot tall robots and human women can be.

On that note: is the size class confirmed?

Like I say, the box art -- to me -- looks like they retooled PotP Swoop's arms, hips, and thighs but with a Voyager's worth of folding backpack.

Sorry to jump back in but I think Power Rangers is more of a Gobots situation.

They own the American IP and that may include Sentai footage and ability to do new designs but I THINK the robots walk a weird line where Bandai owns the robot designs. Hasbro may have pretty broad rights there but my impression is that while Hasbro could slap a toon head on a Starscream deco'd like v2 Leader One, they can't really do much with Machine Robo toy based designs.

so I'm getting that Cyclonus, it's the closest thing to the perfect update of G1 Cyclonus I have long desired. my only Question is if that Nose is fully extended as it looks a little squat, but that may be a result of the wideness of the figure

Would be nice if there's a Targetmaster thrown in to accompany this Cyclonus which we're getting.

Nope, Hasbro owns whatever has been used in PR previously and whatever is adapted going forward, so there would be no rights issues whatsoever crossing over the two lines or using the same robot designs Bandai of Japan do, as long as it’s all from Power Rangers. (So they can’t use anything from Toqger for example, as it was never adapted) There’s no weird line, no legal grey area or conflict, if it appeared in PR it might as well be considered completely separate.

A good example to point to would be Kamen Rider Ryuki/Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, which was exactly like the Sentai/PR situation. BOJ owns the rights to produced toys of Ryuki, specifically Figuarts in this case. Max Factory, who make a rival line called Figma, cannot produce anything Japanese Kamen Rider as they don’t own the rights. They did, however, make an entire line of Dragon Knight Figmas, as they purchased the rights to that show. So you had two companies produce the exact same designs in the exact same scale because one held the license to an adaptation.

There's no way that mold would be able to support all the extra weight.

I freely admit I could be wrong but I think the feet end up with a lot of the weight and retooling to get rid of the combiner peg lets the cockpit through.

I'm not married to the idea. It's just my best guess.

Hotspot wouldn't have been able to support Ectotron's pieces without some reworking.

Before War for Cybertron I would say there was a good chance Takara would put out a version with a Targetmaster. but with War For Cybertron, Hasbro and Takara have generally synced their production lines

    That is very cool.

I'm waking up every morning expecting more leaks or video reviews of some of these now. :/
Can't believe we haven't seen any wave two figures on YouTube yet.

I hope if the Top Gun X Transformers comic does happen it takes place in the same universe as Ectotron and future Collaboration tie-ins. Call it the Collabiverse

Do this but with Mecha Godzilla
