Hello again Everyone, it's been a while since I posted a major custom, so how about a Earthrise Action Master Thundercracker? A little backstory: I bought Earthrise Starscream a week or two back for a fair price and my original Idea was to make Bitstream, but I figured he should be a Tetra Jet like his friend Hotlink, so I decided on G1.5/G2 Thundercracker because why not and this mold would look great in his colors, this is also Shattered Glass Thundercracker if your wondering. Overall he turned out pretty decent, but there were some issues along the way, mainly removing the flat head pins and some painting mishaps, but other than that, it's always fun to customize a Seeker. No problem, I'm actually selling my Potp Starscream because of Siege and also since it's kinda bad lol.

Any advice on taking apart this figure? I think this looks pretty spot on for a colour scheme from G2

 

There is one screw on this figure, that being under his waist Skirt. The rest is Flat Head pins and normal pins, the normal pins are easy to remove, but as for the flat head's there a pain. What I did was use a Sodering Iron, placed it on the pin, waited for around 30-30 seconds, and then either removed the piece or used a Flat Head Screwdriver to remove. Be care full though, since it can melt the plastic surrounding it. And what can I say, I love the absurd Colors of late G1.5 and G2.

I think the funniest thing I found about G2 is how the marvel comics portray these characters in gritty, extremely violent ways while donning these absolutely psychedelic and eyesore colour schemes.

 

Exactly, and how the Autobots were now Hardcore because 90's but being in Bright Neon Colors to boot.

 

he is bad but the only reason I kept him is to make an entire starscream combiner. LOL Only Starscream would combine with Starscream. I am making a custom for his final 4th limb...we have the golden lagoon, ghost starscream from galvatronus united, and the SG Starscream from the collectors club.

And unless they give us Slipstream or Nacelle, I really hope we don't get any other seekers from this mold other than Thundercracker, Skywarp and the Coneheads. But I love seeing the customs people have done with it.

 

Come to think of it, G2 bares a fair amount of resemblance to some of the bay-verse movies in regards to action, themes and crappy narratives, you think Bay may have grown up with G2?

 

Good god, a full on starscream team that combines to form a bigger one. That’s absolutely hilarious and it fits his egotistical character too well! Might as well have the thrilling 30s legends one as a gun and you’re all set!

 

He was Born in 1965 according to the internet, so maybe when looking for references, he used G1 and G2 as reference I guess.

 

Makes the most sense to me, I don’t see any other references apart from that one time Unicron was Earth’s core from the aligned continuity

I'm pretty sure IDW repurposed Actionmaster/Shattered Glass Thundercracker as a background character independent of Thundercracker thereby making it a new character.

I don’t believe there are any other official CW Starscream limbs but you could make an Armada or Prime Starscream.

 

As Promised, Here's G1/G2/Shattered Glass Action Master Thundercracker in his Jet Mode. Imagine flying a F-15 in real life with these colors. Some paint did scape off during transformation, mainly the Arm joints, but he still makes a solid Jet. Thanks for Looking.
