Ah. Didn't know there's a mushroom peg under there. Well, still got your workaround then.

Race car mode looks better, but it's a pity this Mirage doesn't have the Siege one's butterfly shoulder joints anymore. Aside from the lack of a shoulder port, I also wish the nose wings on the figure's chest would be shorter so it doesn't make the torso look so stocky, especially since it's a faux piece anyways.

Yes, it is an easy solution. Many of us thought in that with first pics of Mirage but the issues is to have a Sideswipe without cannon.

Nevertheless it's some kind of solution. :thumb

Is anyone else replacing all their Siege figures with their Earthrise/Kingdom versions? I know I am. Kinda looking forward to it tbh.

The amount of blue plastic painted white is absurd

I'd swap his upper legs with Siege Mirage, but there's no getting past those rivets...

Exactly! I would put money on it that someone is already working on one now using siege as a base from the back port and will fine-tune if needed upon release

You were so close Hasbro. But that lack of a port for his shoulder launcher fails to dethrone siege Mirage

My bad. I'm used to hanging out in customizer threads so whatever a figure doesn't do right/do for us, we tend to make it/add it ourselves.

That said, I did say carefully. I didn't think I implied that it was easy to do.

Yeah, the back, and back-of-arm ports are a bit of a relief, at least the workaround for shoulder-mounting his rocket launcher will be pretty easy, and IMO the faff is worth it for a somewhat more streamlined F1-style car mode.

I’ll just use the sideswipe shoulder weapon angled using back port instead

There’s pros and cons to both Mirages. Whether it’s the back of the alt mode of Siege, shoulder cannon of Kingdom, the clear plastic legs of Siege, to the design deco of both. I personally like the Siege one for a slightly more “Cybertronian” feel. To pay more because of an added figure I don’t want just for more of a earth look, and spend more money on an add-on piece to fix the shoulder launcher with the 5mm port on the back that looks weird to me (IMO) because it looks like more kibble; just go with what you want. There’s no right or wrong with this current figure.

No. I like the Siege figures I do have. However I jumped on the WFC collection during late wave 2 of Earthrise so I got to choose what I really wanted from both lines. The only one I’m not really happy about is Earthrise Ironhide. I feel like I can never transform him to his alt mode because of the rear. Lol.

As a laid back collector, I like the Siege Mirage I have. It's pure nostalgia with a good spin. I never had Mirage, and the figure looks great. The Cybertronian mode is meh. I appreciate what they do with Siege. Ideally, the Holy Grail to me would be transformers that look as good in both modes and scale properly. But then Mirage would be much smaller.

I don't know about this guy. Sure I'd love an earth mode mirage but with the shoulder cannon attachment port not being there, the toy has lost functionality over the previous model that looks close enough to an F1 car for me and retains his classic robot mode look without me having to go buy a 3rd party upgrade to make it work.

So Takara who usually go crazy the last few years with their cartoon accuracy etc have taken a feature away to make him LESS accurate. Geezus ...
Poor Mirage, still no MP and now this.

I've not kept up with TF forums for years, but I was honestly baffled when I found out people had so many issues with Siege Mirage. It was one of my favorite toys from the year he came out, and honestly, this figure looks like a downgrade overall.

The proportions in robot mode are slightly better. I'll admit, when I first saw these pictures, I almost regretted agreeing to split my set with my brother (he wanted Mirage, I wanted the ugly Grimlock). But then I saw that alt mode... It looks terrible comparatively. There's almost no detail around the seat, and now his arms just stick out badly. If you don't already have the Siege figure, this one would be okay, but the loss of the shoulder cannon and phoned-in alt mode don't do much to improve the toy.

Of course, I have a bias for protoforms, so I practically preferred everything form Siege.
