Yeah Wheelie with the silver head/orange face is pretty unique and much more interesting than his cartoon colours.

I say that of any TF, really, that has non-standard face colours. Toy Abominus' white helmet with magenta face is far superior to the toon's inverted scheme.

Wheelie looks awesome. Unicron looks like he’s wearing a messy diaper.

Nice find. These are interesting even if most are just basically the final model.

Awesome, the cell shading on them looks so cool, and cool to just see what could have been or what once was early on compared to what we got in the end. Wheelie does look a bit more interesting color wise here.

Pretty cool to look at - mostly final models, but with a few bits of the DNA of the preliminary Floro Dery designs still peeking through.

Also fun that this particular set of images are totally "anime shaded" all to FUDGE.

wheelie's colours were used in storybooks and the like. its way nicer, happy to see the thread agrees.

something about blurr REALLY reminds me of the shading in Machine Robo

Love this art. Look at that Kup vehicle mode study! Great perspective, great shapes, feels so dimensional!

Gorgeous. That hotrod art is so 80s, could frame it up on a wall.

There's a serious visual style that harkens back to the cinematic classic Metropolis as well as a deep-seated late 60s-late 70s science fiction art standard that bleeds through in these design proofs.

I am IMMEDIATELY reminded of the cover art of countless science fiction books from that era.
