Crap now I may actually have to update to the new 3DS (I have the 1st gen 3DS)I was ignoring it since I got the switch.
I gotta buy the Metroid amiibos now. Saw an amiibo button on the bottom screen. Not sure what they'll do yet with this game, but you know it'll unlock something in Metroid:SR and Prime 4.
I'm equally happy that some elements from Other M made it into the new 3DS game. I've said repeatedly that the game was a useful experiment that they should learn from, and it looks like Nintendo agrees. They must already if they're giving us two titles at once.
Metroid Prime 4. It's all I need. Though news about Kingdom Hearts would have been nice. Time to pre-order.
2 new Metroid games, easily overshadows the disappointment of everything else. Unbelievably excited for them.
Well... I'm now pretty much sold on getting both a Nintendo Switch and an Xbox One X. Not sure who I would say "won" E3 this year, but as far as I'm concerned Sony definitely lost. Only new thing they showed off that I have any real interest in is the Shadow of the Colossus remake/remaster. The announcement of a core Pokemon RPG coming to the Switch was a huge announcement. I'm definitely looking forward to that.
God, I feel ancient...just realized it's been 10 years since Metroid Prime 3. If the game is done well and marketed right, it's going to create a whole new generation of fans.
I was still grinning like a mad man from the Metroid Prime 4 development announcement, and then they go and reveal a second Metroid game in the same presentation, with release being just a few months away. It is a good time to be a Metroid fan. Also, I have to say...Every other presentation had me thinking, "Oh hey, that looks cool, Spider-Man looks amazing. Shadow of The Colossus looks even more beautiful now." Basically I thought everything else looked cool. But Nintendo? I just had a big ol' smile all the way through.
A switch release of that would be amazing, as well as older titles going on the virtual console. Kind of thinking we might get a Metroid Direct at some point now... Complete speculation, but assuming that Metroid Prime 4 is continuing the cliffhangers from MP3 and Federation Force, the main villain will be Sylux. First thing that came to mind there was a possible inclusion in a future Smash Bros game... Also, Metroid Prime 4 isn't developed by Retro Studios apparently. Interesting. Also Sylux pretty much confirmed:
Legal Cruise Missile then Dilemma for me is that I only have a launch 3DS and I don't want to play an action game on that thing in 2017, but have no intention of buying a bigger one now that Switch is out. Might buy the game, but leave it on the shelf for now and play it on Citra when that's mature enough for it.
I just realized that they didn't say whether or not Samus Returns is going to be compatible with the 2DS, which is the model I have. I mean, Mario Maker 3DS and Federation Force were compatible with the 2DS so I assume the same of this, but now I'm a little worried.
Holy shit, so many that I totally forgot that was even a thing. Anyway, girls in the treehouse were playing on the 2DS XL so I think he is safe.
2 Metroid titles? (Looks up info) oh a remake of Metroid 2. That's awesome. I too would like a Switch version of Metroid Prime Trilogy.
