This is a great idea sign me up, Fansproject rounded out my Superion quite well and this would complete it.
Thanks for the interest everyone. I'm still waiting on an order from Shapeways, after which I will send out for the prototype. It's gonna take a couple weeks to get to the final product, so please be patient!
Just a short question: how to fix those panels you mentioned? Haven't read or heard anything about it. Only thing I know of is the swapped legs. Just interested cuz if this helps: WOOOHOOO! STABLE COMBINER!
i'll gladly pick up a couple of these for my custom sups. random question. have you figured out how to open his crotch piece? when i tried it started to crack so i just gave up.
I'm not sure what you mean. If you're referring to the pivoting piece that's supposed to receive the peg on the nosecone, then I'm not sure why you'd have to open it in the first place. The piece that I'm designing will not require any modification to the base Superion figure. I will be investigating this possibility, but my priority is making it functional in combined mode.
i was just asking because i was part swapping and i didn't want black thighs and the brownish round pieces.
This piece is totally going to be awesome when you have it ready...... From one of your photos, I changed up my Superion upper arms to how you have them shown in your pictures..... Don't know why I didn't even think of it sooner, but look WAY better! Not to mention more solid and not floppy. - Gregg
I should be getting the prototype today. For whatever reason, Shapeways took significantly longer to get this made than usual, so I apologize for the lack of updates.
So, the prototype arrived today. I've very pleased to say that it fits absolutely perfectly. Not only does it engange the various molded features of the cavity, but the nose cone now has a place to anchor: no more droopy chest, no more floppy nose cone. Bear in mind that the final product will not be see-thru. The next step is detailing and optimizing. The next update will be for announcing it's availability for purchasing.
That looks amazing! Can't wait to get my hands on one! This in combination with my Crossfire will finally make superion the true Superion Maximus!
Oh, I'll likely be buying this. I can't remember if I asked, but does Shapeways go through Paypal, or is it just payment information you give them when ordering?
