I don't do alt mode displays but I have this guy and Sovereign both and this guy got to go into alt mode. He KILLS it. It's the perfect Galvatron cannon mode and it's awesome on my shelf.

His cannon mode is really as beautiful as a Galvatron cannon mode can be. Reaquiring him (long, stupid story) is at the top of my collecting to-do list.

Completely agree with you Splendic. He is not as premium feeling or as tidy as Soverign but he IS Galvatron where as Soverign looks like a kid cosplaying as his dad. Soverign has no presence in comparison and doesn't capture the character for me. He is nice in hand though. Very well built.

What I love about Tyrant is that he really seems to evoke the Geoff Senior Marvel UK character art. I look at him and see the raving psychopath from Time Wars, which was always my strongest memory of Galvatron. No doubt Soveriegn is a premium figure, but I’m still really glad I went with Tyrant.

I'm really tempted to get this guy at the discounted price that he's showing up as. From what I understand his biggest flaw is that he wasn't made by FanToys.

I'm pretty tipsy right now so when someone quotes me and tells me to buy him, I will.

BUY HIM! I messed with FT and skipped it, deciding to stay with DX9. the ONLY complaints I have are the hands, and the spacing on the hip ratchets.

I sold mine after I got Sovereign and have regretted it ever since. Buy it!

I bought Tyrant used for around US$50, never transformed but with broken heel parts. I don't think they really affect both modes, as long as the grey linkages can be moved into their correct positions, albeit separately from the heels.

I'd still have to say, he's got such presence and character in the fabulous head sculpt.

I got I got this thing during a recent flash sale for like $68. One of the best value third-party purchase I've ever made. I still have minor issues with the robot mode proportions but in hand they're not major. It's a great display piece. The alt mode really is better than tyrants. And I agree with the poster who said that the figure evokes the look of the unhinged time Wars Galvatron from the UK comics.

I just bought one off eBay for $69.99. At that price, I just could not resist. I know I probably should not have since I already have FansToys Sovereign, but there's something about Tyrant that draws me in? I don't think I will like Tyrant more or less than FT Sovereign, it's not a matter of which is better to me. It's just that it has attracted me for so long now, and I could no longer resist. I hope this thing will not disappoint.

Just be careful with his fingers. I think that was the only scary thing about mine.

I used to have him and sold him after I got Sovereign. Planning on re-buying him. What seller did you buy from?

Baba. It was his last one, which also influenced my decision. Hopefully he may get more in. Baba is one of the few sellers in China that I trust.

I think you'll like him. The hands suck (I hate balljointed fingers) but he a much better alt mode and transformation than Sovereign. Leads to some sacrifices in the robot mode but overall he's a great figure.

Not that I remember. They aren't fragile exactly, just dainty season 3 rounded hands which can pop off and get lost. I think I future'd the one or two worst offenders and he's been ok ever since. Didn't lose any during a move, so I think he's set.

Transformed him into cannon mode for the second time, and got a paint chip on his nose. I really need to be careful to have his head straight on when folded into his chest. I just used a white paint marker to touch it up. Still, a very fun figure with a fantastic head sculpt.
