My G2 Dragstrip came in from ShowZ today. I had to look up a video because the instructions skipped steps or they where out of order.
Direct customer support from DX9 is pretty much non-existent. They typically don't respond to emails unfortunately. Badcube was the same way. You may have to reach out to a retailer to see if they can source the part from DX9 for you even though you didn't buy from them. You may have to pay a small fee & shipping. Try contacting ShowZ, Baba, or Toy Dojo. Keep us posted.
Sent an e-mail to BBTS asking about their Capone pre-order from last fall. Scheduled release of November 2020. I politely asked if they thought Jan 2021 or Feb 2021 was going to happen or would they be as far back as March 2021 like other retailers who just put up pre-orders. (of course I cannot find that March 2021 date anymore) Got back a form letter e-mail saying how tough it is to predict arrival times. Bugger.
They did not. Really odd too. Makes me wonder if people are just mistransforming the combination strip that plugs into the shin. I do see that it can bend, so interested to see what's going on with that functionality.
After over a month since is shipped and after sitting with Pitney Bowes in my zip code for almost 3 weeks before being handed off to my local USPS office for final delivery, My DX9 Dragstrip from ShowZ was finally delivered yesterday (1/7/2021).
Dragstrip arrived today. Pretty interesting transformation. Does anyone else have scratches on the back of the head right from the box? Debating if I want to contact Babba to get a replacement
I'm interested in that too. Looks like it could fold a bit, but I've only seen it go in straight. I figure it might fold back to push against the rest of the plastic. I don't have either of those molds, though. My G2 one didn't have scratches there.
Are you in the USA? If so when did Baba ship your order? I'm trying to get an idea how long Baba's shipping time is.
I really have to admit, there's a certain charm to these guys. Went in on the g2 set and both Dragstrip and Breakdown are rather fun and look bloody good. Paint job on Dragstrip is especially good. Hope the remaining guys stay at this standard, if so it's a a damn good note for these guys to go out on.
I saw in one of the video reviews that they bent the connector, then lifted the dark panel on the side of the leg to hold the connector while attaching the car. Seemed like a decent connection. Not sure how strong it was. Video was in Chinese.
Got Giuliano today, I am not sure why everyone complaining so much about the visible head, you can simply turn around and you see the back of it, it's not such a big deal. Sure it might not be a match for FT version (we'll see when we get that as well) but it's way better than the crappy XTB version. The biggest problem i have with it it's the lack of heels, it tend to fall backward way too easily (unless i am missing something)
My G2 Dragstrip has been state hopping as of late. Went from my state to Connecticut to NJ where it's been sitting. Makes no damn sense. On the bright side I finally got the missing left leg for Orion Pax from Baba today!
I have a purchase from end of November from Baba that I'm still waiting, but it was returned to them because of a battery (twice) so it is on its 3rd trip. They used China Post for both of my last purchases that arrived, and I noticed his shipments had to go through multiple locations to get to me: Tianjin, Beijing, Zhengzhou, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Carol Stream IL, and then to my Elburn USPS distribution location and I usually get it the following day. My last package was 5 weeks order to door. Not the worst, but longer than my experiences with ShowZ, TF Direct and Terry’s TF. I just set my expectations when ordering from Baba.
My G1 Dragstrip has a splash of red over paint on this face. Is there a way to safely remove that without affecting the gray underneath?
Only way i can think of without seeing it is if you were VERY careful with an x-acto (hobby knife) or razor and slice the red off. I'd imagine it's slightly raised up over the other paint on his face so try coming at it from the side. If that's too hard you could get some matching grey paint and cover up the red.
