The TFM Mensaor all-metallic repaint is already released. I think the Generation Toy Guardian might be a bigger problem (It's the same company as TFM).
Odd to get a goodbye post and new preorder at the same time. Hopefully they put out the rest of the guys in G2. This kind of sounds like the post. I wonder if it's more this then not receiving their money for some reason (if that doesn't just mean poor sales).
3P will only die if they increase their prices to an unreasonable level. Next year, we'll still see the same names: FT, XTB, MMC. DX9 dying does not mean anything, they were barely alive this year.
It does mean something (IMO) because it's one less company that offers bots at reasonable prices. Plus that's just one less company to cover figures the others might not. I don't ever see a 3p going away as good news unless they were outright making garbage.
The thing is DX9 for some reason stopped releasing new G1 figures to the market. I was expecting more after their Powerglide which I love by the way. They then took the longest time to release the rest of the Stunticons. I guess my point was that had DX9 been more consistent, they might still be alive.
Ah damn. IDK if anyone from DX9 is actually gonna be scouring here and seeing any of this, but we're here for you all. We'll be waiting to see the next chapter in your history, best of luck! DX13, beat Microsoft to it and screw them over.
This! I think people tend to forget how much wait times and lack of communication can impact sales and followings. I see so many people who end up pulling out of collecting when too much time passes between desired releases. A great deal of what seems to keep this hobby alive is hype and anticipation. I think that's why MMC, FT, and XTB have done so well in recent months, maintaining almost a 1 release per month average, while so many other companies have barely managed a 1 release per quarter, or worse, 1 release per year. On the other hand I see companies like Fans Hobby, DNA, Planet X, etc. who do much fewer releases throughout the year, but do significantly more updates and communication to keep their fans engaged, and it seems to pay off for them despite the longer wait between releases.
Kinda a shame DX9 calling it quits. Their Menasor is my combined mode of choice. Gabriel (and Quakeblast) are the only two times where I chose the competitor over FT offerings.
Got my Guiliano from eBay seller mascotzone. Honestly wasnt expecting shipping to be so fast. Included the Pax leg, and gun. No QC issues. Glad this set is done!
Oh yeah, i think the vertically placed wheel position is like the g1 toy. Horizontal is technically the correct toon position to have them. Either way it's nice to have options.
