I've been having similar thoughts, though I'm up to 4. I would like to keep the Lightning Bug accessory from Capone though.
Anyone else have major paint chipping on their Capone sword? I just picked mine up off the shelf and the paint was literally falling off.
Nope. Ran my hands all over it and no flaking, no wear at all. Honestly, wouldn't even know it was painted if you hadn't mentioned it, still not entirely convinced mine is painted having just had it in hand
Dang that sucks! I noticed it was painted as soon as I got it but I’ve had only a small chip for over half a year now.
No lie but it looks pretty cool. Sorta like a battle damage/worn look. Obviously not really cool when the rest of the team looks flawless lol. Just my 's.
It’s been so long at this point, it’s way out of any acceptable service time. Not the end of the world either. Just wondering if it had happened to others.
It could depend on who you bought from, but I feel it is still worth trying, just don't hold it against them if they can't. As long as they still have parts most 3P companies will send parts years later (ones that can be contacted, so not ToyWorld). DX9 isn't one we can contact directly, but your retailer shouldn't have an issue asking.
What I would do and you don't have to have art talent to do it..get some of the blue painting masking tape..take off around the hilt and the blade tape the whole blade anything you don't want black..get a piece of foam you can stick the end of the blade in without damaging it so it stands upright..get some black spray paint that has primer bunt in it stand back a bit so the paint goes on even..take your time..matte or gloss however you want it..when dry don't rush it..get a can of spray clear coat again matte or glossy however you want it..spray that on it again stand back a bit don't glob it on..let it dry a day you will be good as new..if you can't get a replacement * tape off around the hilt sorry spell check got me
