Yep the two slots on the joint itself. I can try to get a picture later.
I went out and got some as soon as I could. Worked like gangbusters! Thanks man! I appreciate all the tips...I rotated the leg and added the oil to both sides...holy HELL that was nuts!
Now I feel like I could actually put him back in truck mode without breaking him.
Did anyone make an oversize version of Motormaster's gun yet?
Man I want this Menasor
Sorry if this has been asked already but what's the box dimensions for Capone? I know it's huge just not sure how huge. TIA!
8" x 4.5" x 26"
Wait, so the other cars just ... clip on to a pre-existing Menasor exoskeleton? I'm confused.
Are those blank blocky body/leg sections mainly Motormaster's trailer?
Well, he should look pretty cool complete, I guess.
The feet could be better though, for sure. Bit derpy like big purple monster slippers.
Looks awesome next to the other combiners. His shins could use some little decals. They look a bit too plain.
I wonder why the feet look like that? It's a mystery!
Point made. I stand corrected.
I ordered a couple of alternative heads for my DX9 Menasor and I have to admit that I'm impressed. The heads came in attached to one another with "eyes" also included. It didn't come with any instructions but taking apart the head is pretty straightforward. Basically you take three screws from the back of the head (two on the bottom sides and one on top). I also took battery out of the head too just in case. Next, split the head in half. This is where a small flat head screw driver or a small thin knife may come in handing to pry the head into two halves. Inside there will be the plastic eye piece, the two horns or antennas that can come part so beware of that, and the two halves of the head.
The face sculpt might can be pulled away from the head by a small think knife or screwdriver. Once it's out it can be replaced by one of the two alternative faces. I had some issues fitting the original plastic eyes into the eye sockets of the alternative head but with some sanding it shouldn't be an issue. If you don't want the original eyes you can paint the eyes that came with the alternative heads which fit perfectly.
I tried to find a spray paint that matched the original face sculpt but failed. If I did a better job at color matching and too a little more time letting the paint dry I think the results would be different. Overall from a distance (3-5 feet) the bot doesn't look that bad though. I'm planning on color the outside of the other alternative face sculpt black like in the Shapeways picture. Overall I'm impressed and the mistakes were on my end and not the designer's.
If you're interested in purchasing this you can find it here. You can choose one of the two face or both of them for a special price.
Because we all like photos...
the faces look cool and i am sure they are ones that @NOCV designed. it is just a shame that shapeways has such a garbage printing service. they look really porous and rough.
it might just take a little bit of sanding to fix that.
could also be the paint that he used. who knows but that face sculpts are great in the files.
