Damn. So DX9 are doing Menasor and UT is doing Bruticus. Megatron, Omega, Springer. These guys are going after their competition pretty hard!! Wonder if they'll try and compete with XTB on price? Doubt they can undercut the way they did with FansToys Omega.
Given that these product IDs start with a D then these are MP scale (that and MP Megatron used for prop). Interesting.
I'd happily pay the DX9 price over XTB since I know the plastics and QC on DX9 are solid. I also like their contemporary modernisation of the G1 figures, as opposed to what we're seeing where all MPs must look like the cartoon to full effect or theyre a complete fail !!
Multiple MP Stunticons. Am I dead? D-did I die or something? This is insane. I love it. They'd better do some cool stuff to justify the purchase over XTB, though.
Stunticons must seem like the easiest Combiner to tackle for these companies. It's like the mirror opposite attitude with the Aerialbots, where I suppose Silverbolt keeps designers up at night with cold sweats.
As much as I like DX-9's quality, I'm a little concerned on their interpretation. Their Gewalt looked pretty bad in its Alt modes. Bot mode was great. If they take too many liberties or it's another Transformissions Stunticons I'm out.
I feel similar about Gewalt, Carry, Chigurh, Buzzing and Allen. They've done some average attempts at G1. But by the same token, DX9 and UT are the same company and the UT Bruticus looks pretty bloody spectacular so far. I suspect DX9 will add a little extra detail to their figures vs XTB which is fine in moderation. But it could easily go too far. UT/DX9's rep may be better for material and QC but XTB/KFC are the current king of the G1 MP look. For me it will come down to a battle of looks and price. I've had minimal issues with my XTB figures so I'm not worried about QC. I suspect both will look great, so if the design is comparable between the two, it will probably come down to price, and I can't see DX9 beating $40 limbs. But all it will take is one or the other to screw up even a tiny bit to sway me either way.
