I know. I was aware of that when I wrote the post.

I have some issues with the Powermaster integration, but I am digging the hell out of the smaller Ginrai bot mode.

I agree, sadly means I'm falling further into the doube-dipping hole getting day 1 release and ex/a releases so I can have an intact display while rotating through desk toys that won't chip. Although in this case it'll be a day 1 ginrai and an ex/a combined mode.

That's funny, because that's one way you could summarize this character.

But what is the nature of that collaboration? Looking at the two released toys and this one, I have to think that MST is providing financing and perhaps production line resources, and that's it. The quality is entirely down to the designer, whom I am certain is different (and see this post as well) and it shows (rather poorly in contrast to actual MST toys).

Yeah it most likely the actual manufacturing of the toy. The feel of all the recent DX9 legends figures so far look like MS toys and the triangular clip systems look the same too. DX9 may just be providing the design and MS might be just producing it. Or they could both be involved in the design process.

I suspect there’s legitimate design collaboration. As you say, they have plenty of MS’ trademark dovetail clips, plus their hands are MS hands. But the engineering has a little something extra that the standard MS stuff doesn’t, and that’s the DX9 touch. MS is definitely producing the figures though, since they’re made of nylon.

Looks better than the official MP in every way at a fraction of the size. Hasbro sucks again.

Yes please, I'll gladly add this to my legends shelf.

Y’know, I don’t think it’s so much that the head is so small or lacks a neck, but I think the shoulders are too high as well. They ought to be level with the top of the torso, but they stick out above, making him look like he’s shrugging.

I also really hope they make alterations to the Powermaster so it properly covers the whole grill. It looks cut in half.

I think with a few minor changes it might look better

Sorry rush job, I'd also likely make the blue darker but it's 2am and I need to sleep. But changing the chest curves and a few details fixes some of the issues.
If I have time I'll see if anything other than the head needs to be fixed for combined mode.

As were DX9’s War in Pocket figures, and Unique Toys (aka DX9) Palm Collection figures. Both of which predate Magic Square (from DX9).

Hasbro do suck, but the Masterpiece line is 100% Takara.

So obviously this will scale with DX9 Mini Chromedome and the rest of the Headmasters, but how will it scale with MFT ones? I'm happy enough with those and I'm not going to get the DX9 mini ones.

Don't know about the chest go Ginrai. really hop they fix that. The super ginrai in effect has the same issue. The proportions and the rest of the figure though looks better than the Masterpiece TT. Does anyone know how tall its going to be in CM?

I might skip the TT MPG in favour of a legends version. Because of lack of space I mix MP with legends combiners for my personal collection.

While I think he looks good I'm not so big on that the core bot is going to have a flip up skirt piece.

I'm curious if there's something preventing being able to put a simple cut in the middle of the skirt piece.

The fact that they would just slide off the pin.

There's multiple ways to engineer that from happening. Hell, you could just thicken the pin/hole and friction alone would be sufficient.

The only thing weird is that he has no neck. I know a lot of figures don't have necks, but at least there's a ball joint that lifts the head about the torso a little bit giving it the illusion of a neck.
