My Gabriel arrived today... Mein gott... I knew he'd be big but holy cow! He's BIG!  

Yeah as JaxrGrimes says the chest square is about 1"x1" give or take a mm or two. The largest toon logo I have is the toyhax one which is 5/8" but has the more obvious sticker outline. All I want is an equally sized waterslide of the toon logo  

As for Gabriel, have I mentioned he's big? He's big.


Also it's probably been pointed out before but it looks like they accidentally printed some of the designers instructions on the box instead of doing what they actually asked

I'm also looking for a toon symbol big enough for this guy. Just went through my whole 3p MP collection and toon water slided everyone up.

They look great but I have to say, the stress of scratching them off during transformations is causing me anxiety haha.

LMAO the box.   May i ask where you bought him? I pre-ordered from BBTS but it's still not in stock.  

BTW, have you looked into printing your own waterslide decals? I have looked into it and I came to the conclusion that I'd have to buy some laser printer decal paper and take the logo vector files I found (and decal paper) to a printing shop to get maximum resolution of the logos on the decal paper. It might be something you can do if all else fails in finding the toon style decals you want. You could skip using a printing shop if you have a decent laser printer, though. Just a thought.

 

Yeah I couldn't wait any longer so paid for shipping him out   Thomas, Paean and the Sweeps still to come later. You're going to need to hurry along your man cave conversion for when your stack arrives  

 

Tell me about it! I managed to get the Quint Pit in the melee this afternoon, and I've got all my pieces I picked up for that display (XTB's Egg sent me down a mainline/Legends rabbit hole...) all still in boxes. Sovereign M got inspected and put back too!

Fortunately the eldest is moving out this week  . Revamp that room, move the youngest into it, redo her box room into my office/Transformers room. Should be good come November time hopefully (no time off work in that time).

No idea where Gabriel's box will live in the meantime  

 

Maybe it's just bad luck with the one shoulder.
If nothing else breaks in the next couple of months, maybe the joints weren't as bad as they feel and sound.

 

I guess be careful, as much as I love him and think his joints are generally fine, I also suffered a breakage on my left elbow joint. The ratchet was way too tight and snapped a connector piece on my first attempt to bend it. I got a replacement part fine and is much better but best to avoid that (and takes time) ! There's some guides earlier in this thread on how to loosen the ratchet that involves filing down teeth and compressing springs which helped mine too.

I also have silicon lubricant now, which I bought for my KO mp44, thinking of giving him a bunch of that too to make it more smooth.

I know this has likely been asked several times before (but I'm too lazy to go through all the old posts), but which is the better Omega, DX9 or Hasbro? I have both on pre-order at BBTS, but I can only afford one.

 

Depends on your collection and what you are looking to get out of either figure. No right or wrong answer. For some Gabe is superior and in other’s eyes, Hasbro OS has more play value. For me, Gabe is a far more quality piece and you can still use it with a chug collection.

I got mine from TFS-Express UK. They're normally pretty good at getting stuff in promptly but I guess BBTS can't be too far behind? Unless importing to the US might be slower at the moment?

I do actually have waterslide paper for a little custom I did a while back but my printer definitely wouldn't be able to handle a hi-res logo. I might try a printing shop like you suggest actually, also thinking ahead for a large Decepticon logo for when XTB release their Menasor trailer in 2049. So I might print a couple of large toon Autobot and Decepticon decals for the big bots if I can't find any ready-made options.

 

I think it will come in October, ShowZ has there shipment listed as "Incoming" and BBTS gets there's a week or two after that.

My seller packed mine by cutting up and folding down the original carton box (meant for 2 units) but still...

 

I do that all the time. Shipping is ridiculous on these larger pieces
