@fury413 My only issue with Gewalt (and the reason I sold this in every other way great figure), was his size. He was just too big for my collection.

But I see you've got that covered..... now you just need a better Shockwave  

 

Yea, I really want a Cloud 9 Quakeblast. Its difficult to get one though.

 

I have an extra regular purple Quakeblast I was going to repaint in a lighter toon color but probably won't get to now...

Also, do you need Black/Shackwave Quakeblast? I have two.

 

Anyone know what colour forearms this was sold with? I heard it changed from purple to beige?

 

Still my Blitzwing until/unless FT does better. Great shelf presence, great colors, materials are decent. The forearms on mine are purple with a tan piece on one side.

 

Agree 100%. Some people don't like him because he's not G1 faithful, but it doesn't bother me on Gewalt and he's built so much better than Ditka. I'm looking forward to Berserk, and will likely pick him up, but I'll never get rid of Gewalt. To this day he's still one of my favorite 3P Masterpiece scaled bots.

 

I'm really considering grabbing this guy in a few weeks... Only thing putting me off is berserk. I'm not a fantstoys fanboy but none of their figures have put a foot wrong in my collection. I dont want to buy a £100 shelf warmer, is gewalt worth the long haul?

 

The final product had purple forearms. Only one person had some weird copy with beige forearms I think, still no idea what was up with that.

Gewalt still one of the best toys I own but his aesthetics were and remain divisive. Plenty of people waiting for Berserk simply because he's more faithful but I rarely hold any g1 designs to be sacred myself and much prefer how DX9 handled the character. It basically comes down to which you like the look of more, you can't go wrong at all quality wise with dx9's but you might end up preferring the alts or whatever of the ft figure.

 

I agree that Gewalt build quality is excellent. It was worth every penny. See photos .

 

At this point, I'm waiting for it to get discounted. It's been out a while. If Ditka hadn't been an epic fail, I think Gewalt would already be in the $90 range.

 

That moment when you realize, a week later, that you forgot to fold some little piece down on one of his shoulders.  

 

So I finally picked this guy up and managed to break him first time through. One of the tan wings sheared off the peg. Anyone have any suggestions for fixing? Or have a contact for a replacement part? Thanks.

Sheered parts tend to be unfixable unless you want to get your super glue out and that tends to never go well. You'd be better off asking for a replacement wing via your seller.

Spudge out the old mushroom cap if they can get you the piece then you'll easily be able to pop the new wing in.

 

Broke down and ordered one.... KFC's looks terrible to me, and FT's transformations seem to be getting worse and worse. Decided to jump in on this guy while he can still be found. Hopefully he's a solid as most of their other pieces at this scale.

 

Anyone else who's thinking about picking up Gewalt, I'd say a smart play for a cheap used copy would be to wait for FansToys BW to come out and get in people's hands.

No matter what the reviews say, there'll likely be a bunch of Gewalts for lower than retail prices on the boards and eBay for about a month.

 

Good call. I like the style of Gewalt more than the prototype photos of whatever Fanstoys is cooking up.
