I'm having a bit of trouble with my 25th anniversary Matrix of Leadership G1 set. It's quite happy to play on my computer, but it just won't work in any of the TVs in my house. "Wrong Disk Type" is the error that pops up before the player spits the disk back out at me. I don't mind watching it on the computer. But I was kinda hoping to play it on my nice flatscreen, y'know?

Are the disks the wrong region or something? I think my dad bought it off ebay or something. I really have no clue where he got it.

EDIT: Oookay, Season two eps 52 thru 58 work... But nothing else so far.
UPDATE: Disk 04 works, as does 05. But 06 won't.
UPDATE: Disk 07 works, but 08 won't play.
UPDATE: Disks 09 through 12 are functional...
    THOUGHT: They're not scratched.
    UPDATE: 13 through 16 work.
BODY COUNT: 01, 02, 03, 06, and 08 get spit out of my DVD player. The rest seem quite happy.

How much did he pay? There have been bootlegs of the Matrix of Leadership edition. If he got a really good deal, it may have been too good to be true.

I have no clue, but he's not stupid, he knows when he's looking at a fake. The CDs are all printed or whatever, they don't appear to be copies.

I have pictures of the box.

Dad just called, we have confirmation that it is indeed a counterfeit.

It really does, but apparently it was cheap enough that he bought a second one to replace the problem DVDs. So I guess we're done here.

    Thanks!

My Armada set does this too. Some discs do not work on DVD players but all work on the PC. The only difference is that mine isn't a bootleg.
