Which do you prefer for tots? Or yourself?
Keep in mind Mega Bloks has 3 sizes of bricks, Mega, Mini, and Micro. The Mega bricks are bigger than duplo. The mini sets are the ones for toddlers. Personal experience is the Thomas the tank engine stuff goes over very well with toddlers of either gender.
The thing is the companies. In our house we can't go wrong with Lego, who owns duplo. But, Mega bloks always breaks apart and is missing pieces. I like the mega/ big mega bloks, but I'm not sure if the quality is standard with the rest of mega bloks products. Which company does the Thomas?
Mega bloks, and the Thomas set have never been missing pieces. But they tend not to have that many.
Are Duplo bricks still compatible with Legos? I remember being able to use Duplo bricks as wall fillers with my Legos growing up. Certainly made base building go faster.
I'd think being able to transition with the toys from one stage of youth to the next would be the better selling point.
I have no idea, but that would be awesome if they were compatible.
