WOO-HOO! "Every day they're out there making Duck Tales, woo-hoo!" I will miss the old cast though, especially Alan Young (Scrooge McDuck) and June Foray (Magica DeSpell). And let's face it, the original cartoon was something incredible and special, this reboot will have to be just as good to be a success.
Yeah, I'm trying to be optimistic, but this new version has some heavy competition. At the very least, I'm hoping the designs are as close to the original as possible.
Since it's the hot button issue at the moment, I'm only going to make this joke once: Joseph Kahn's Duck/Tales. ...Have fun with that.
Nah, if you want Dark Duck Tales, it's been done: (Beware, I've been told that this can ruin childhoods) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmpAx8Z5z40
I hope Alan Young will be able to reprise his role as Scrooge. If not, I hope they take a page from the later years of post Jim Henson and get people who sound right for the iconic roles
I don't think Alan Young would necessarily be interested in doing a full-time gig anymore. Figuring that the show will hopefully run for a few years, that's a hell of a commitment to make for a guy who would be in his late 90's by the time the last show records. They could use June Foray for Magica DeSpell since she still works fairly actively and because (and I hate to be grim here) the change in voice wouldn't be as jarring for a recurring character if the day comes that she's no longer available for the gig.
I have doubts about it at this point, what with the rise in flash animation and 3D animation, but then again this is Disney. The only shows I've seen them do exclusively in CGI are most of their Disney Junior shows. Their normal shows are either traditionally animated or are those blasted sitcoms.
This is a pleasent surprise. I grew up watching episodes of Ducktales so I'm curious to see how they'll do this new series? I wouldn't mind if the animation's like the new Mickey Mouse shorts where it has a sort of flash animation going on but feels and acts more like a traditional drawn animated show. That would be sweet to see.
I think it would be great to pull Darkwing into this Duck Tales. Especially if they keep any of the old continuity, so that Launchpad can be the crossover connection. It would be great to have a relaunch of those Disney Afternoon properties (if the quality is there).
I'm having emotions of joy and dread - I don't want the DT theme song in rap, modern or hip hop. Traditional Animation please, no CGI.
