I enjoyed the movie overall, but there's still one thing about the Autobot team intro that annoys me... We see Crosshairs, Drift, and Bumblebee driving to meet up with everyone... a few cut scenes during the same intro, we then see Drift hopping down the rocky outcroppings and transforming into a helicopter to rendevous with the others... Minor continuity error, but it still bugs me, LOL!
I guess he could've technically drove up, transformed and climbed up the mountain off-screen just to get a better look as Optimus drove up. But yeah, it's a weird cut.
It was an odd cut but jumping off the cliff and transforming sure looked a lot cooler than just driving up.
Wait. Wut? Are you against the Triple Change? Or that he Changed into a Helo but rolls up as the Buggati in the scene?
No no. See we see Drift Bee and Crosshairs driving up in car mode from one side, then see Hound who's seemingly already there hopping over the canyon on foot, and then suddenly see Drift up in robot mode standing on the canyon like Hound before turning into copter mode and flying over. Granted, even though the 3 cars were seemingly driving together when Optimus rolls up Crosshairs is already waiting in robot mode in the middle of the canyon, while Drift as mentioned is now flying in, and then Bee who's still driving finally arrives. So that cut is just weird. Makes it look like Crosshairs and Drift broke off from Bee, and Drift proceeded to climb the cliffs and then turn into a copter for a more dramatic entrence, while Crosshairs somehow beat them both there anyway, even though all 3 had been keeping an even pace with each other moments before.
Personally I was more confused as why he didn't use the helicopter alt-mode during the final battle to help get 'The Seed' away from the city. Kind of seemed like wasted potential.
Yeah. that was somewhat strange. He could have transformed into helicopter mode, gone up to the mountain, transformed back into robot mode, slid down and turned back into helicopter mode. It's redundant, I know, but it's possible. Although that cut made my non-TF fan friend not realize Drift had two modes. During the Spoiler KSI break-in scene , when Drift transforms into a helicopter again, my friend went "Oh, he's both the Bugatti and the helicopter?"
I'm pretty sure its intended to be a similar helicopter to the RAH-66 stealth helicopter (Airachnid in Transformers; Prime) However their are minor changes such as the tail.
Yeah we don't really get a good look at it in film but it looks like he just folds his car parts into a helicopter form and uses his blades as the rotor.
It's because Lockdowns ship was still hovering over the city with a squad of fighters as well. Same reason Optimus didn't try his rockets until the end. Had either of them tried to fly away before it was all over they would of most likely been shot down
Ha Ha Ha! I thought the same thing. Here's hoping we get a true triple changing Drift figure. I think it would be cool.
