I know we're in that 'shut up and wait for the movie' period with less than a month to go, but I think I got something. Multiple times, we've seen a helicopter. It'll be released as a real RC helicopter, it was in the blurry footage from that TV convention, and it was in one of the recent trailers. People assume it's Drift, based off the Voyager Drift revealed, and the custom Kreon based on him. But I don't think it's Drift. In the trailer, the helicopter was flying under Tessa as she was dangling from a building in Chicago. But the thing is, isn't Drift the Bugatti at that point? It couldn't be him. Plus the chopper is grey, while Drift is blue. (the obvious one) So thoughts? Could this be some Decepticon? Could it be Cyclonus?
Drift is only a helicopter in the desert but I still wonder does he stay like a helicopter until Chicago or before because there's no Bugattis in the desert lol.
There's evidence that proves it, and evidence that doesn't. Evidence that proves #1: Custom Drift has helicopter blades. Evidence that disproves #1: What Sideways said about the helicopter hovering over Tessa when Drift already should've woken up in his new Bugatti.
I think your on to something. I'm a bit suspicious of that voyager Drift myself. All that secrecy...then just a repaint, that looks just like the deluxe toy. It could just be a trick to throw fans off.
Hopefully hes a triple changer!!! Hope there a scene explaining how he got the samurai look. Drift was probably hiding in Japan.
In the scene where the chopper is seen flying under Tessa on the wires, can anyone get a good clean clear screen grab of it?
yeah I thought it seemed fishy that drift was a helicopter... drift's entire character is shifty as fuck
I still think the giant bot that Bumblebee is fighting in the payoff trailer (the one based on the old DVD concept art) will turn out to be a helicopter, due to the rotor-blade looking whip weapons and the turbine / engine things on the back of the shoulders. Plus he has the blue strips / lights on the underside of the chest area. Matches pretty well with the RC chopper. But then again, Galvatron has those colours and lights too... Anyone ever consider that he might not stay as a truck forever? Especially if the Kreo enormous Galvatron is a possible in-movie rebuilt / enhancement by the humans or Lockdown.
maybe he starts as a helicopter.. loses mass, then takes on the bugatti form. transformers can change their colors from mode to mode. that "ending" scene that a lot of people are pointing out to be the "prime voice over ending" part shows drift in his bugatti form still. who knows.. i can't wait to find out. the helicopter in the trailer isn't clear enough to make out any details. the helicopter blades have a blue hue to them.. but that could just be a reflection of the sky.
I still find it very strange that his pop bots (bobble head) toy was once labeled as a mystery villian and his hex bug toy even had a Con logo on it but now in stores its a bot logo. He is either still a villian an they are trying to cover it up. Or early on in the concept stages, they might have planed on him actually being a villian but decided not to go that route.
So TF: 4 AOE is a mash-up of Animated (Dinobots and Lockdown), Prime (Bulkhound) and IDW-back-story (Decepticon-turned-Autobot Drift) from the comics. Cool. I dig.
