So is Drift 3 out? I've seen one person I know say they got a copy in this week's Diamond box and John Barber expected it to be out this week But Comixology don't have it (RID and Punishment are up) and Previews and Pulllist think it's next week. Anyone else seen it?
It seems like Diamond possibly wound up sending the issue to UK shops a week early - I've seen reports that places elsewhere didn't get the issue, it's on the shipping list for next week, and it's not been released in digital today.
Worst issue yet. The return of McCarthy's "Blooboohoo, war is pointless, what are Autobots and Decepticons FOR" spiel, this time with Hellbat as the mouthpiece, and then some fighting happens, the end.
I don't know if I'm more confused that comics are out in the UK on a Wednesday now or than IDW has embarked on an elaborate scheme to get me to buy their comics twice, in print/iBooks first for the early edition and on Comixology as per schedule the week after BECAUSE I CAN'T HAVE A GAP ON MY IPAD COLLECTION NOW CAN I. Deep breaths.
Yeah, it crossed the line into being completely redundant a story too. I'm no hater on McCarthy but I've found this to be an increasingly underwhelming series. That it's taken Hellbat, a magnificent character in Victory and distilled him into this lukewarm villain is a crying shame. The highlight of this series has definitely been the Guido/Baskerville combo. Their artwork is delicious together. Shame that the colouring is nothing more than serviceable.
Now I know why there was only 1 Retail Incentive cover (#1) for the whole series. Guess even IDW was like "No shop will order 10 of this crap". Still got me for the Sub Covers, and the comixology. Like the ipad guy........ NO GAPS IN COLLECTION!
I got this, Transformers #37 and punishment for just over £10 from my local comic book shop yesterday and it didn't feel like I got £10's worth of comic. I got quite a few really average comics. This wasn't bad but hard to get that excited about.
I thought it was okay. I'm a huge Drift and All Hail Megatron fan, but this book hasn't been nearly as good as those. I thought the first two issues were pretty fun, though. I think McCarthy gets a lot of misplaced hate, but I only started reading Transformers comics last year because of TF vs. GI Joe. Mostly read superhero and creator-owned stuff, so maybe there's something that makes a Transformers comic good that's different than...any other action-adventure comic? I almost wrote these things off when starting with Furman's stuff and Last Stand of the Wreckers. Then I read All Hail Megatron and I was sold on the IDW-verse.
My local comic shop does not get Drift. I'm gonna have to wait til the next time I can go to a somewhat more distant one...
It seems like drift is gaining a group of friends, how would people feel if they went back with him and rachet onto the lost light?
