Album is OK, but the mixing is horrible as Mangini's drums sound like ass. He is a good technical player, but has almost zero flair compared to Portnoy.

I think the new album is great, but then I am a Dream Theater fanboy. They had something to prove, that they could continue making great music without Portnoy. I think they proved it with this release. To me, it sounds almost like a return to their roots, somewhat classic sounding yet new.

"Bridges in the Sky" is awesome.

I absolutely love it. It's Dream Theater's first album to hold my interest from start to finish. Mike Mangini is a fantastic drummer.

I heartily concur. It's been a while since I got instantly hooked on a new DT album. This is my 3rd listen since I got it yesterday and I love it.

I've been playing Resistance 3, and then I got the album and found that the song Outcry fits the game perfectly. I absolutely love the album. Especially when you consider all things. I loved Mangini's reaction when he got the call.
