Looking forward to seeing him in color. So far he excites me less than the last guy, and that's fine. I really didn't need a whole bunch of Arielbots. If I only get one (the previous) that's easier on the wallet and the shelf space. But I may completely change my mind when color is added.

I am tired of fakeformers, this is the first Superion at this scale that is actually a combiner.

Every time I get excited about the bot modes and all those amazing details.... I forget about how they are just going to be dull silver for the entire team :(

You do realize most of these vehicles are usually not unpainted silver, right?

Was never a huge fan of Superion, but Dream Star seems to have knocked this one out of the park, especially alt modes. This set really makes me hope they do a Bruticus next. Was never much of a fan of his, either, but I could only imagine how amazing it would be.

Of course, I'm saying all this before they've even released a single bot.

    Still....I hope they do it.

That. These aren't jets of the 1950's. Bare metal is basically unheard of for them. So is being painted silver.

Looks good.  Just nice to see these guys get the not made of boxes treatment.

I thought most of these jets IRL were just a dull grey.

Meh, to each his own. The surfaces on these toys look like paint to me (probably because they are painted). Bare metal has a different texture and gives a different pattern of light refraction, and with any age will often have some signs of oxidation. This looks like the paint that it is.

Honestly, I think it's a nit-picky argument for those who just want G1 colors. I usually give 3P a bit more room for creative interpretation. Let HasTak be a slave to their past-- DST isn't chained down to anyone's preconceived notions. Even if these renditions aren't exactly what I would have designed, I appreciate the fact that they're something other than a slavish reproduction of a Sunbow animation model or a Diaclone toy from the 80s.

I think it's for cohesiveness in the Gestalt, but I agree that it's both ugly and unrealistic. They should've just made all the planes red and white IMO.

Ooookay? U asked I answered. Which color of the DMC DeLorean did u like best? For the record I prefer these over the g1 color deco

Sorry, friend, but I didn't really ask anything. And my remarks about deco preferences weren't aimed at you, but to the general conversation that came before. I only disagreed with your comment about these being painted to look like bare metal.

But regardless, I'm not trying to tell anyone what to think or what to like/dislike. It's just a little annoying to keep hearing "these aren't G1 enough because [X]", when it's a 3P company designing a stylistic interpretation of the Aerialbots. There is an obviously intended association with the originals, but it's not a strict homage. Fanstoys has already created a very cartoon-accurate set, and Zeta has a decent one that pulls off the hybrid style. Those options are already out there. If people want a more realistic white Slingshot with an orange head, they can break out the paints and go to town on this one.

EDIT: Oh, and I personally like it best when people paint their DeLoreans. It always bugged me that the color of the composite grille surround didn't match the stainless steel body panels on the stock finish. I've seen one in dark green (with bigger wheels and an LS swap) that looked killer.

One super easy one to point out is Silverbolt. Concordes are not military vehicles, and have never been unpainted silver. They have always been colored white. And usually had a stripe that was colored red.

Good point. Let's hope DST sticks with a realistic deco and issues that one in white.
