What color variation, it’s all grey. Calling monotone figures that are all the same shade of color color variation doesn’t give me any confidence in your understanding of color.

Variation from the original characters, who weren’t color based on any color theory or power, but solely to make them easily distinguished by kids and easily differentiate on kids shows and comics. Not necessarily variation between characters.

now that I’m an adult, I don’t need distinctive colors to differentiate between characters, becausei can better pick up on slightly more subtle cues. I also better understand the idea of homogeneity of colors in a military force.

But these are being designed to stand/displayed alongside MP figures, which are mostly based on the G1 versions of characters. Going "off-brand" in too many directions will just put people off. Yes, they look like good designs in and of themselves, but with very little to actually recognise, the nostalgia market (which is the largest part of this hobby) is not being tapped.

Not really using the same logic, is it? No-one wears the same clothes day-in, day-out for 35 years. It's more like if you had a beard for that length of time, then shaved it off... yes, you'd still be you, but odds are that most people who knew you would walk right past you in the street without recognising you.

How about the seekers? The ONLY thing that differentiates them are their colours.

Considering that MP has been going slavish G1 Cartoon, you have Zeta Toys for them. This is a more stylized modern take aimed for people who don't want just 1984 G1. If anything they would go with Bumblebee movie MP scaled figures or even IDW ones if you squint a bit.

What’s funny is that’s exactly why I want them to be something other than just grey. The Bumblebee movie had everyone be distinct bright colors. These don’t fit with the style of figures I want to put it next to...

If the seekers are a special military unit, wouldn’t they all have the same colors? Isn’t that how military units work? I always liked that about the Dinobots, insecticons, and constructicons. Their cohesive colors made them seem like a specific unit. Give the seekers the same overall color scheme, with some minor difference in the secondary colors, and more drastically different head sculpts.
I mean, I’ve said before in this thread that I’m fine with their traditional colors. But I don’t think it should be considered sacrilegious for a very different interpretation of the characters to have a different and/or more homogeneous color schemes.

And since when has a Concorde ever been part of a military force?

But both of those eras HAVE coloured their characters to match G1 in order to make their versions of the characters more recogniseable.

Even if this wasn't the case, since it's been largely agreed that this company is something to do with either TFC, the Cang-Toys team or the Generation Toy group, if you take everything done to date by all these other companies, there's not one single release from any of them that hasn't gone with G1 colours so far... that's clearly where the money is, so it seems an extremely strange choice to go against now.

Seconded. I want them with my Warbotron, Gravity Builder, Shuraking, Feral Rex, etc.

These Aerialbots are MP scale, almost MP everything, but they won't fit a G1 MP collection, I think they will look better next to MP scaled IDW bots or MP Knightverse figures.

I think I could spot Ravage!

I can't imagine looking at this set and thinking "these are meant to go with G1 MP figures".

I like the design of the toys but the combined form with largely uniform colors makes it look more bland to my eyes. I don't need the individual toys to be super close to their official counterparts but a bit more color would be nice.

It probably has already been said but I feel like this choice of colors is taking a page out of Hasbro's playbook in that they'll make the initial release of the mold differ from the source material and then make a follow up reuse of the mold in "classic" colors.

Honestly, if they were going to make something that is such a huge departure from the source material, they might as well have made an original design all together.

I never get sick of people telling each other why their preference is correct and everyone else’s is wrong.

Remember if they’re not listening it just means you have to type louder!!

I'd prefer either version and will likely get both if produced
