What's the point of Prowlastator if it looks nothing like IDW lol

 

doesnt look anything like IDW except for Prowl being the head. lol, also i dont get the design choices of Dream Star. their superion looks bland

Not an IDW expert but wasn’t their Devy Prowl replacing Hook as the upper chest and head and Hook replacing Scrapper as the right leg because Spike killed Scrapper?

Yup. But there's 8 members here, so we may not being seeing every version of the combiner, there may be multiple combinations.

 

One question I haven't seen yet is Prowl Constructicon size or are the Constructicons carbot size?

Only counting current IN PROGRESS MP scale Devastators announced we have (1) X-Transbots, (2) Fans Toys, (3) Mastermind Creations, (4) 01-Studio (Zeta), (5) Dream Star Toys, and if you are overly optimistic (6) Vectron Labs. If Vectron actually happens you could get a different classic team member from each company. If not do the same just filling the gap with a Toy World member. They should be able to combine with the 6 different companies figures right?

Completely correct. The question is do they make Hook as a head, a leg, or both here. Considering how little of this is IDW there is no way to really predict it.

This is around 5% IDW. If they didn't make Prowl a team member it would be 0% IDW. The thread title is just wrong. Honestly I think GT is just stylized too, but I've never taken the time to really look into it.

I kind of wished they would take on a stylised NOT Devastator. I really enjoyed their Aerialbots (except for Superior). I REALLY hope they don't make it all silver though, gritty green and purple would be perfect.

 

Yeah. This isn’t anything. This is just them using an already established theme and making their own thing.

@Sentinel - feels weird to ping a mod over something so silly, but it would be in the same vein, I think, making a thread called “Masterpiece G1 Optimus Prime” and then opening it up and seeing the anime bishojou figure.

Could you maybe perhaps remove the “IDW” from the tread title?

 

not to keep piling on, but yeah, what a letdown. here’s hoping someone still makes a true Prowlstator.

 

So it's safe to assume Bonecrusher, Long Haul, Mixmaster, and Scavenger will be normal. Hook will turn into a chest and hopefully a leg for full accuracy. Scoop will be a leg. Prowl will be the chest, and Scrapper will transform into a corpse.

 

I hope that they will change the final proto to look like this

 

They won’t. Just like how their Superion doesn’t look like Superion from any TF continuity.

 

I hadn't paid attention to it earlier, but it is strange that Scavenger's treads are the normal vertical in combined mode and Bonecrushers are off at an odd angle instead of both symetrical.

Don't hold your breath. I guess it is theoretically possible, but looking like an existing source is not Dream Star's thing.

If we are fixing the thread title we should probably spell "star" correctly too. I don't think anyone will search for this thread as "dream stay toys".

 

As @Teletran-1 has pointed out, in order to be a true Devastator, there has to be members everywhere.
