Such a massive part of my childhood. It doesn't seem real but it is. Thank you Toriyama for everything.

I may not have been keeping up on Super, but I was a big fan of Dragon Ball and Z growing up. It's a real shame to lose the person responsible for something that was a large part of your life. He will be greatly missed.

    Man. This happened so suddenly.

    Well...

    I think this is appropriate.
:rip  Akira Toriyama. Thanks for the memories and adventures!

I'm still kind of confused by the premise. Is it simply Goku and buddies turn back to kids and everyone else is the same"? Or are we pulling an Alien Rangers and the wish turns the whole world back several years to make everyone on it younger?

Also, holy shit, I still can't believe Toriyama's dead. Like that... I don't know what to say, especially with all the stuff he had planned.

This was one hell of a thunderbolt.

Mr Toriyama had a lot of mangaka friends/associates who spoke highly of him, and will miss him greatly.

For myself, I found him to be a fantastic artist with a great sense of fantasy, fun and childlike wonder.

Though Dragon Ball may have grown beyond what he had intended/planned its appeal will always be in the youthful zest of its protagonists: Goku, Bulma, Krillin, Master Roshi, Vegeta, all immortal characters through their determination and drive.

Thank you Mr Toriyama for bringing Dragon Ball to the world and making it a better and more enjoyable place for me, and so many others.

May your soul find its way to peace, or the next adventure.

By the original manga: Goku goes with Uub to train.
In the "original" anime: With old Pan seeing Goku among the crowd.
Recently? Goku and Vegeta training after the Tournament of Power.

Pick your fav. They are all good endings. :')

One of my favorite ways to remember Toriyama's Dragon Ball work: the Battle of Gods credits where it showcases his original manga instead of the animation.

Generations of anime fans owe a debt of thanks to one man, who created characters we all could relate to, and a world we all could enjoy, no matter our race, color or nationality.....
    Thank you Sir.....

The Anime/Manga World Offers Condolences After Dragon Ball Creator Akira Toriyama's Death

    Reactions from the cast.

"I don't want to believe it. My head feels empty because I don't want to think about it. Still, I remember the words Toriyama-sensei said to me, 'Take care of Goku, please.' It makes me think, "I will stay near Goku's side until my energy runs out.'' Sensei, please watch over us from the heavens. I hope you depart in peace.''
    Masako Nozawa, Goku/Gohan

"It was like a bolt out of the blue and I still can't believe it.
A new chapter of the series had just begun, too.
Just as more and more thrilling stories were going to be told.
    It's too sudden.
    It's such a shame.
Thank you very much for creating such a wonderful work.
    Please rest in peace."

    Ryo Horikawa, Vegeta

"My manager brought me the news of Akira Toriyama's passing… “After Mako-san [Masako Nozawa], you're the second person I've told Toshio-san…” The first thing I thought was “I wonder how Mako-san felt? For Mako-san, Dragon Ball is her life work and Goku is her alter ego. More than how I feel about Piccolo!” …The last time I met [Toriyama] was at the preview screening of Dragon Ball Super Heroes. I would like to express my deepest condolences."
    Toshio Furukawa, Piccolo

Heard about this earlier today. This sucks. Such a big part of my youth was defined by the early days of this show coming to the US. I was happy to see it having a really steller revival in recent years as well. RIP Toriyama. We will miss you.

This was sad news for my fiance and I. We watched all of DB and most of DBZ recently and we are also fans of the video games he designed characters for.

I was never really into DBZ , but I loved Dragon Warrior/Quest.

One of my first cartoon crushes was on Daisy.

I don’t think it can be overstated just how big of an impact Akira had on the world. Certainly, his creations helped spread anime and manga across the world & entertained & inspired people everywhere. He paved the way for so many other creators.

And even though I never followed DBZ, I absolutely respect what he was able to create.
