He may have been. I'm just being contrary to those people who are all "Sunbow or gtfo." Don't mind me.

I do like the faceplate though.

At least it fits in with the others, pinned wheels and all.

I think most of us can agree that Hasbro was constrained by something in the creation of this team. Budget likely, time maybe, confliction of choice to update or stay true to the original, could've been a factor. With Mixmaster it's obvious a lot was lost in the translation. Dr. Wu's version looks to put this back on track. I can't even think of keeping the godawful official version if I had Wu's.

Agreed! A space for the badge is necessary along with either a toon face or the option to swap heads with the official figure. I realize people who don't care about the toon might not care, but with every other team member sporting mostly very toon accurate faces, Vigorous Mixer here would not fit with his current face.

To each their own, but I agree with a few others that unless you're going to go MP level articulation or do something way over the top why would anyone pay 3rd prices simply to get a better limb for this already pretty spiffy combiner? The value add has to be pretty extreme to warrant the expense and for an already expensive figure set, this one just doesn't feel like it needs to happen.

Not to me they don't, but in this case, with Mixmaster...um, yeah, they do.

It does if you want a more accurate Devastator, that many will be using as a MP stand in. I personally hate the HasTak Mixmaster...Bot mode has a huge barrel just hanging out of his ass, and alt mode isn't accurate to Devastator. That and Long Hauls stubby ass bot mode are two reasons ive not wanted this version.

This makes me reconsider a little, although i will agree, it's an added expense on top of the already $150 Combiner. HasTak should have just done this in the first place. Not sure still if I'll buy Devs, and this both...but, it's nice to see options for those who will.

while I am interested in this I do agree they should have given it MP level articulation while they were at it.

I agree on both points. The first thing I noticed was the lack of a stomach panel plain enough for a Decepticon sigil. And why can't they make the head attachment method be the same as the Hasbro version so we can swap heads if the mood strikes? These seem like simple enough fixes at this stage.

What are the odds that, one by one... *every* limb gets replaced?

I'm trying to follow an online conversation with Dr. Wu right now. It's in Chinese, but I think he said it's too hard for people to remove the head off the CW Mixmaster so he didn't bother making the head swappable, and just made his own design with more articulation on the neck. People are telling him they want the option for the mouth and mouthplate though, and I dropped the bug in his ear about flip-head with the mouth on one side and the plate on the other.

I also mentioned a Quickmix version of the toy might be fun.

I'm hoping if not by Dr Wu, then another third party can do it. That way, it will be close enough to be a MP Dev till takara decides to do one.

Oh, I also mentioned the need for a spot to place the faction symbol, since it was mentioned here.

I don't claim to hold any sway on him, but I noticed many others are saying the same thing, and we do know Dr. Wu will make small changes if there is public demand from his fans.

Okay, still following a conversation on Weibo between Dr. Wu and some of his online friends.... They asked if there will be a SDCC colored metallic version. He says should be.

Another person asked about an alternate head with a mouth. He says they are considering it.
