downloading youtube videos

    hey dudes,

    up til yersterday, i was DLing youtube videos fine thx to dvdvideosoft's freeyotubedownloader. but ive been getting 'no video available at url' messages since. anybody have similar problems? any other software recommendations? thx.

    Vixy.net is an online alternative. Its buggy as hell and slow to boot, but it gets results. Best to have an afternoon free to download.

    Also, they have a software version beta for download at the site.

    You don't need different software, you just need to update it every few weeks or so. (youtube keeps purposely changing the file structure)

    I use the Firefox plugin called UnPlug - it works great. It doesn't convert the videos or anything, it just downloads the flash file.

    I think Real Player 9 lets me do it.

    Unplug for Firefox or Gootube FLV retreiver. I usually use the latter and it always works.

    the dvdvideosoft suite is still the best. It lets you save it in ipod and psp formats too, so you can just drag and drop.

    Does YouTube, Google, and lots of others. No software needed, just place the video url in the field and click download.

    yeah, youre right, i just needed the upgrade as per their forums notification, thx.

    and yeah, dvdvideosoft is fan fucking tastic, its criminal that theyre free.
