Hello All! My delayed Seeker Repaint Project finally continues. (Apologies for the lack of Tech Specs this time around). Both Skywarp and Nacelle are repaints of Hotlink - which oddly suffers from the same chest-plate issues as Starscream. anyhoo, comments/crits/questions welcomed. Thanks for stopping by! 20201208_080706.jpg 20201208_080700.jpg 20201208_080653.jpg 20201208_074935.jpg 20201208_074921.jpg 20201208_080803.jpg 20201208_080755.jpg 20201208_080733.jpg 20201208_080713.jpg 20201208_075129.jpg 20201208_075042.jpg

I like what you did with Nacelle's wings, makes him stand out a bit more. Great paint applications.

I am such a fan of this mold and these two repaints. Nice work on both of them, and with the wing mods on Nacelle. Do you have any more projects with this mold in the pipeline?

Oh my. What all did it take to make that Skywarp? The fact that I don’t have one has almost become a running joke.

The Thundercracker I kept a Thundercracker, I have has no chest plate issue but the one I made into Skywarp does. To further the randomness my kid's Starscream no problem at all.

These look great. You should be proud.

Thanks, it's my very first use of styrene. Thanks for the kudos on the paint.

Thanks! I'm a huge fan also. Check some of my older posts; I have already repainted TC into Sandstorm and Blackout; and yes, at least two more, (hopefully six more total) on the way soon.

I feel your pain; I actually ordered one that was never shipped waaay back in Feb...
Blakc Rust-oleum Ultimate Ultra Matte Paint & Primer (Rattle Can), Testors Metallic Silver, and cheap Purple craft paint, sealed with Pledge Floor Gloss. Hope that helps.

you can fix the chest issue by enlarging the holes in the chest slightly so the peg fits better. use a small screwdriver slightly larger than the holes and work it in a bit. do it, check how it fits and repeat until it fits without falling off. I've fixed several starscreams that way.

I remember commenting on Blackout, but I don't think I had logged back in yet for Sandstorm. So, Sandstorm looks good as well! And on that note, I can't wait to see what others you come up with.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try. I'm on my 16th copy of this mold, and have tried several different ideas, but never anything that worked permanently. Never had the issue with any of my Thundercrackers, btw. Hasbro QC was all over the map with this mold!

These both are great. Nacelle looks particularly great since he hasn’t been done by anything yet I don’t think. The jet mode is colored really well.

Nice. I picked up some extra starscreams myself to paint up as skywarp and thundercracker.

I don't feel so bad with 11 copies now. By chance, do you have a pin vice and some small gauge piano wire? I've made small, copper pins for mine and pinned them to the frame to keep them from falling off. The pin vice is a bit tedious, especially if you have arthritic hands like I do, so be warned of that if you try it.

    Thanks!

    Go for it!
Thanks...lol. Not bragging by any means; I'm a Grandfather on a budget...most of mine have been gifts or clearance specials...lol

No, I don't have a vice, but I do share the arthritic hands...lol. Great tip, btw... now I should try to convince the Boss Lady that I NEED a pin vice.... lol

I have 4 starscreams i bought to merge with the rainmakers to make them more screen accurate (i could haved painted them but seekers are fun). While starscream seems to be the one that suffers its an easy fix if you do what i said. just work the holes a little larger and you will notice the grey "strap" that it pegs to will fit less skewed and it will be as good as the other "fixed" molds. I can literally hold the figure by the chest and swing it back and forth and it doesnt pop off. Doesnt pop off during transformation either.

Here is a pic of what im talking about doing.

Heres a video i made of after the fix

all you need to do is ream the holes bigger. you dont need pins and all that.

I must've been a doofus that day, because I completely glazed right over your first post and didn't see the tip you have posted. If I had taken time to read it, I probably would've never posted mine and just commented on the number of Seekers instead. I definitely think @Fuhzimota should do yours, since from the looks of it, the hands will fair better when compared to my method. As for my method, it was the only thing I found online at the time and I knew it would work, since my Thundercracker's chest plate was slightly warped. The next Seeker I work on, I'm definitely giving your method a shot myself, since the other one is painful and time consuming.

Its all good. I've posted this fix several times on multiple posts to try to help people fix theirs and its really simple and easy to do. Its the same fix for fixing ironhides leg panel that is the exact same problem.
