I did some chroming and paint details on the vehicle mode. I tried putting chrome foil on the exhaust pipes. It didn't stay on very well, though, so I painted them silver instead. Maybe I'll try again later on...

I did just a little on the robot mode and plan to paint more later on. Both arms just broke off at the shoulders as I transformed him for these pics :banghead:  They tab back in and hold ok, but when I try moving them they come off right away. Maybe I'll try to come up with a fix later on. Unfortunately, due to all the pins on various parts, a simple part-replace looks out-of-the-question...

    Thanks!
Yeah, I ordered your pieces and I think that's why the shoulders broke on mine. I bought it before you made the joint tighter and had to use a lot of floor polish on it to tighten it. I think some of the floor polish got on the shoulders of my Ironhide because they got tighter to turn. Between that and torquing more in transforming him with the Shapeway pieces, the plastic the pins went in look like they ripped off.

Stinks that his arms fell apart.

Nah, it's not your fault. They were working fine until I took the pics...
I'll have to take a better look at it, but I'm wondering if I could attach your shoulders to where the old ones were and still allow him to transform...

I've been trying to think of ways to fix them. I might post something in the general discussion area to check for ideas later on. For now I think I'll just leave him on display...

So you're not the only one with a broken Ironhide. Same thing happened with my first one but I was lucky enough to score another one from a Good Will of all places. I really hate how the arms are constructed though. It would have been nice for Hasbro to just upsize the deluxe version because that figure was dead accurate to the cg model.

So maybe it had nothing to do with the Shapeway parts... It was weird that they both broke during the same transformation. Is that what happened to yours?
