Thanks! That's only $10 over the price to get a set in Japan...so shipping, paying the middleman, and markup only added up to 25% over.

its only 10 bucks over? How so? It says on the ad, spend 3000 Yen of transformers at TRU and you get it free. You can get a united figure for 3000 yen.

Ah, I'm afraid I don't read Japanese. I thought they were an exclusive which cost 3000 yen.

In a way, they still do. You still have to pay 3000 yen to get them, you just have to buy a United figure that, odds are, you have by now if you have access to a Japanese TRU. (Or it was one you didn't bother getting till now, i.e. one you don't give a fig about.)

 

Well, I certainly don't mind a free fig. I am gonna try to see if I can buy it via Proxy service. That way at least I can get a united figure to go with it.

I think I will try and get this from someone who will offer a lower price. I don't even have Striker yet so he should come first, then I will get the blades.

Here I go 'defending' them again...(its really just logic but since I've been accused of it in the past I figured I'd just roll with it)...

They have to pay a middle man for the blades. Do you really think a collector in Japan is going to buy multiple purchases of 3,000 yen and then just give BBTS the exclusive Mech Tech weapons? The middle man is simply the next level of the supply chain in this scenario. Every time it touches a new set of hands, the cost increases. So Takara to TRU Japan, TRU to customer, customer to BBTS, BBTS to you. I'm honestly surprised they are not more.

 

^ That's pretty much what I said. Plus, OP only uses one at a time in the movie, so find one other guy and they are $25 each. Hell, I already did!

Since when are exclusive Japanese widgets EVER cheap?

Then I promptly went and preordered the damn things..... 


All I can say is Striker Optimus better appreciate them once he gets them as it's gonna be his only X-mas present. 

 

Ya it says that they are a set so I think it is two. I pre-ordered a set because I have striker Optimus on pre-order as well so this will go good with him.
