I'm still kind of stuck on the Dark of the Moon leader class Optimus Prime vs the AOE/Last Knight line Optimus. I think figuratively* speaking the DOTM Optimus is much more appealing overall. Don't get me wrong there are some very interesting details on the AOE/Last Knight styled figure but unless Last Knight gets a leader version of its own I'd rather stick with the DOTM version. Or I guess the Striker Optimus Prime figure. You?

I'm holding out to see if the presumably inbound leader class toy for TLK pulls off some wizardry.

If money is no object and you want the flat-out best-engineered Optimus out there for your display, the ROTF/DOTM leader mold is your best bet. If you want am Optimus who looks okay but is actually fun the play with, go for the AoE leader.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a better leader figure of Optimus's new design for TLK, whereas the ROTF/DOTM design is the peak of a bygone era of engineering that we'll never see again, so on that basis alone you might want the DOTM/Striker version.

I like both, but like most people I think the ROTF/DOTM design is the better of the two.

If you're figuring out which to buy, I think you're more likely to regret not grabbing that 10th anniversary leader Prime than any so far revealed (or likely) AOE/LK new leader. But who knows. Except for the missing Pinstriping, he otherwise has the best deco the mold has ever had.

BUT- if this is about what toy to buy, you owe it to yourself to take a serious look at the WeiJiang oversized Evasion Prime. Now that I've had and been staring at mine for the better part of a year (meaning the new, wow thing has worn off), I think he very well might be the best Prime I have that actually transforms (I have a couple nicer ones that don't). His biggest downside (and this could be a deal breaker) is that he is a bit bigger than the official leaders, although he scales beautifully with the HA figures.

Great feedback thanks. I want to wait for TLK and hope they pull it off like you guys mentioned but at the same time I don't want to miss out on that 10th anniversary DOTM Optimus - really nice details in that one. I'll think about it a little more but it's looking like DOTM after all. These days I've been choosing my figures wisely since I simply can't get them all. Too many other figures coming out that I want to get as well and funding for my collection isn't as available as it used to be. My wife looks over my shoulder with a scornful eye when I'm looking at figures to buy, lol.

I own a WeiJiang MPP10b (Nemesis) and man it's just a thing of beauty. Those guys know what they're doing and they do it well. Awesome figure, no complaints. I appreciate their evasion mode Prime but I just don't like his chest design as much as the dotm/rotf design. If those guys made a dotm/rotf version Optimus I would get it hands down.

I have ROTF, DOTM, AOE Optimus Primes as well as numerous others; it's OP, you can't go wrong!

I just bought an AOE Armor Black Knight version, most beautiful colors on Optimus Prime with translucent weapons that glow in certain lighting.
