How about.... this whole thread! I don't know exactly which pages, but there's some really good stuff in this thread. I'd start by removing that ugly-ass faceplate if I were you. I haven't regretted it one bit. Then loosen the neck-glue if yours is glued, so he can move his head. Then paint the blue-jeans (have yet to do this myself) and cut the leg plastic so there's more knee articulation.

 

I find the cannon from his leg looks pretty bad-ass on his shoulder port...

 

I kinda wish his head was bigger. It's disproportionate to the body which makes it look out of scale, even when it's not. Ironhide's got a pretty big head. The leader Bumblebee has the same problem except worse cause it also looks like his head is sunken into his torso.

 

Well yeah that's what I meant.

I was more asking if someone could compile the best mods into a list in one post, because as a college student, I don't have alot of time to sort through 55 pages of thread :x

Anyone got one lately? Has his loose arms/legs seemingly been fixed with the later releases?

 

Those fanswantit guns are looking sweet in packaging! I hope they ship soon.

 

yeah... I'm definitely getting those as well. Ironhide looks wrong without insanely huge guns!

 

The guns from Robot Kingdom shipped a few days ago and are almost here! Mine are currently awaiting inspection at customs, so they should be here by the end of the year.

haha naw they should be here by the end of the week.

EDIT: They came today! I will post pics as soon as I can, but for now I am leaving them in the box cause they look awesome that way and my Ironhide is in vehicle mode.

 

I just broke down and finally bought one about 2 weeks ago. I have no loose joints anywhere on my copy.

Yeah, Leader IH isn't the best. I really don't like his random voice chip and guttling gun.

But the rest is okay. I like how the chest panels work, and his weapon storage is neat.

 

FWI2 Stealth Force mode

Here's a quick Stealth Force mode using the FWI2 set  

 

that's not bad at all.

 

I've had this figure since christmas but only opened him recently.

Robot mode is cool and he's the IH that best fits with leader Optimus. But when I transformed him to vehicle mode I found a lot of QC issues.

I'll try to do some fixes and the knee mod later on.

FWI definitely needs to create some Big Iron guns for this guy.

I caved and bought this guy at half off a few weeks ago.

Didn't really want him, but he was the only Leader figure from the movies that I didn't have, so...

Kinda wish I'd stuck to my guns. There's nothing satisfying about him at all. None of the accuracy or complexity that I've enjoyed of all the other Leaders, kibbly as hell, gimmick-laden to the point of restriction, and despite being so simple, certain clearance issues still make him annoying to transform (like a slightly less frustrating Jetfire).

 

Nope. I'm talking about his rifles of kill everything from the videogames. Afectionately called Big Iron & Big Iron II.

 

I actually like Leader Ironhide. His truck mode is impressive, the best I've seen on an Ironhide figure by far. His robot mode is fairly accurate. And he's in scale with the HA figures and Leader Optimus. (Sentinel & Bee are so out of whack, it's not funny.)
It would be nice if the arm cannons were left out, though, since they're too small and don't serve any real purpose. While the cannons are disappointing, his accessories are pretty cleverly hidden in his legs.

 

So I've done everything humanly possible besides break my Ironhide, but I can't for the life of me get the windshield piece to fold over and inbetween the roof halves.

I've watched video reviews and everything, but my Ironhide just wont do it at all.

Any help?  

EDIT: Nevermind, I finally got so pissed off that I started shaving plastic with my exacto knife and now he transforms just fine.

 

Mine just takes some massaging at best.
