Didn't see a feedback post for this set, so hey, why not. HA Sideswipe is pretty much either liked or hated - I don't think I've ever seen anyone who just absolutely loves him - and this deco is going to be the same. Whoever came up with it must've been smoking something, or just trying WAY too hard. Personally... I don't mind the plastic colors at all - but the paint apps, of all things, turn me off. I definitely do not care for the racing stripes at all. Maybe if they were all one color, it would be OK, but the white and black stripes just don't do it for me. I could deal with black stripes. The white doesn't fit on such a dark gray car. Icepick has, for some reason, defected to the Autobots for this release, and taken on a colorscheme reminiscent of Universe Snowcat. I don't have the regular release of this guy, but he's a pretty neat little guy. There's a little human figure that comes with the set. But I don't really care about it. The biggest draw of this set, to me, was that I wanted a HA Sideswipe, Icepick interested me, and I was at K-Mart with a $5 off coupon. The set was priced at $25 - cheaper than a normal HA figure. While I'd prefer the silver deco of Sideswipe, maybe I can remove some of the paint from this one and make it a little less ugly. I do find that I like the mold anyway. That IS one hell of a backpack, now that I've got the guy in hand. Also, he's got a missile, I just didn't have it handy at picture taking time.
Yeah - the flash makes that green look a little brighter than it really is. It's VERY lime green in person, bordering on neon. In fact, it's about the exact same color as that text. It's almost like they went with a half-assed G2 colorscheme. Anyways, I can only recommend this if you like weird colorschemes (like me) and don't think HA Sideswipe is bad. Or if you have money to burn and want a Halloween flavored Icepick.
/megatron DISSSGUSTING *flicks Sideswipe* Icepick is kinda cool, but loses the whole Arctic motif that makes O.G. Icepick so appealing.
At first I did not like the mold too much. But then I did the back kibble mod and I L O V E it. Only have the original silver and black repaint, maybe I will get this repaint too.
