Hey guys here's a Jolt I knocked out a few days ago, getting prepped for paint this week. Anyway, Jolt got the LED eye treatment. Couple of pics show the back so you can see the battery placement and also the switch (black square behind head) The overall brightness will be toned down with paint to a realistic level. The challenge with Jolt is the pin hinge the head/collar piece swivels around on. This would definitely tear wires. The way I worked around it is tho create a 360 degree barrel joint with dual contacts. Using brass tube and pin stock of various concentric diameters, separating the two current paths with heat shrink for insulation. This setup would be layered like this: Outer tube (+ from battery) Secondary tube (+ to LED): Heat Shrink tubing (insulation) Inner tube (- from battery) Brass pin (- to LED) All these are collapsed into teach other (like a folded telescope) and replace one of the swivel pins used to secure the collar/head assembly on the figure. Then appropriate wires are soldered to the appropriate contact points and BAM! Light up eyes with never a chance of broken wires. And what is a Jolt WIP without whips? I tore up his MechTech gun and cobbled it together into a backpack which houses the components to power up the whips (EL wire) The white styrene are the MechTech connectors and will be covered with details then painted. Being a separate weapon/pack any figure can utilize the electro whips! Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions, I'll be updating this thread as the paint is applied. s2
WOW, im wondering how u hide the component for the ELwire kits. Awesome, i have some EL here but i couldnt figure how to hide in transformer figure... You are the best!!!!
I must obtain this Jolt. The FAB is just not good enough. I can't wait to see this painted; I'm sure you will catch Jolt's silent and electrifyingly awesomeness.
