Normally I don't mind when Japan and the rest of Asia get exclusives. But its so not fair they've got the DOTM Jetwing prime, and soon to be getting the one with the Striker shield and mechtech weapon. Wouldn't it be great if Hasbro re-released leader prime to the rest of the world with the jetwing and striker parts? Come on Hasbro, be nice. Don't make me over-spend importing. It's just not fair.
The worst part is I think you can attach the jetpack in the back and the striker parts up front at the same time but you can't buy them without the 2 primes which aren't even custom painted.
Yeah, thats a pain in the ass. Suppose at a stretch you could dark jetwing prime and striker prime, but the cost would be astronomical. It just seems like a wasted opportunity to spend the money developing these new accessories, and then confining the release of them to one market.
What would be cool is if Hasbro released the Leader Prime with the new DOTM changes, but without the swords [to cut down on plastic and give his arms poseability] with the Striker acessories, and the jetpack from Jetwing. [The gatling guns would probably make it to expensive], and sold it as next year's Ultimate Optimus. That'd be cool.
You can fix this by turning the arm one quarter turn so that you make the arm completely straight with the sword undeployed behind his arm. Then, just turn the fist a quarter turn in the opposite direction. Poof. Straight arm without sword being out.
It's because Hasbro is held back by pricepoints set mostly by retailers on a case of 4/8 scenario. Whilst I'm against hasbro not releasing at least one version of the marvelous ROTF LDR Prime, the cost would be too much if the new stuff\moulding of both versions were combined for one release. It would cost like 80-90 USD or maybe more, and it has like zero electronics in it. Would not be a big seller for kids.
Buster Prime, Jetwing Prime, Striker Prime: Hasbro might do something yet, but they're never going to tick all your boxes. Aside from which i slightly wonder if the Jetwing would even pass the drop test? Striker Prime appears to have the original fuel tanks, and i'm not sure how compatible the components from the two part gun on Striker Prime are with the Buster petrol tanks.... so that puts the idea of some rolling all these featues into one toy in question. Never mind how they would price such a thing.......assuming any U.S. retailer would touch it with a bargepole.
Very unlikely I know. I'm rooting for a KO Jetpack at least. I know the gatling guns look good but he didn't have them in the movie so I don't really want them. Best case scenario would be an upgrade set including a jetpack, shield, a sword and a partsforming trailer that turns into the weapons circle.
If that is the case, how come we have not hear from Hasbro anythign regards to a Leader class DOTM OP or they are in production?
Wtf are you talking about? Hasbro and Takara are the same company. As mentioned by others, the US doesn't get certain products because retailers won't carry them.
You speak nonsense. Transformers is a brand owned jointly by Hasbro and TakaraTomy. They aren't the same company, but they have a partnership. Neither company owns any Transformers-related "copyrights," much less on individual toys of shared characters, that the other one does not. Hasbro invented the concept of "Optimus Prime," they can sell any damn thing they want with that name on it. It is trivial to figure that the difficulty in bringing over the Leader class retools and additional accessory packs is difficulty in finding a market for them. I don't think Hasbro is particularly interested in selling lots of different variants of one 2009 mold, and more importantly, the retailers aren't. TT's a little different, they notice that mold sells to collectors and they get some mileage out of it. Frankly, Hasbro's business is a lot healthier than TT's. TF sales are incredibly strong in the US, while TT is only kept afloat by hardcore Japanese collectors. I'm importing Striker OP, it may not come to the US (who wants it to, I want some new Leader molds for next year), why cry about it? It's not that hard to predict what things are likely to hit the US and what things don't fit into the Hasbro price structure.
