I painted Soundwave's car mode silver. I was going to chrome him, too, before posting these pics, but the paint was scratching when I tried that. Instead I'll wait until right before I start painting his robot mode, then I can touch up any scratches at the same time. I also plan to hit some more car details, like the orange brake pads and some interior colors...

 

I find it inspiring to see how many customs you can do in one year. Still have to finish my first

Yeah, it can be a little scary working on a rare, expensive toy. I had already painted my DotM deluxe Sideswipe like this so wasn't too worried. I thinned my paint and spread it out each time I painted him. It took awhile, like four or five paint sessions of about an hour or so each, but I'm pleased with how he looks  

 

That looks real sweet man! I'm a fan of your customs and the mods you do here and there  

Mind me asking what kind of paint you used? And is it close to a Hasbro silver, by chance?

 

Wow, thanks! The paint I used here was "craft smart" Metallic Silver Acrylic Paint. I got it at Michael's and it works pretty well for me when I mix in plenty of Future Floor Polish. I'd say it's a bit shinier than most of the Hasbro silver I've seen...
