I think I'd much prefer a faction swapped repaint of Air Raid not only as it's a pointless name reuse that just spits in Takara's face but also as He's a bit to happy looking as he is - hopefully he's got a redeco head or a better colour scheme in his medium future.

He has potential as a Decepticon as an Autobot he's to cheery looking in robot mode. he looks like the Autobot who takes kiddies on day trips or something.

Oh and I want a Bank Truck bot (new Mould)

 

Saw these at retail about 3 days ago -- here in Taiwan.

Air Raid looks good, even for this non-movie toy collector. The green looks good, but it'd be better as this guy Machine Robo instead of Air Raid.

 

Meh, I'm not really liking any of this wave. Air raids legs ruin it, and Darksteel is a maybe. I'm still hoping that wave 6, alongside Wheeljack and Soundwave, ill have Mirage, The other 2 dreads and Maybe the rumored leaders, but I'm not counting on it. This is the September wave right ? So wave 6 is probably around Nov/Dec.

 

That shield/gun for Air Raid will become a shield/gun/radar for Stratosphere.

 

I'm definitely getting Darksteel (I'll be calling him Quickstrike in my collection, though), but although Armor Topspin looks kind of cool, he doesn't look good enough for a second purchase, and I don't like Air Raid much at all. His colors are pretty bad looking, and make no sense for a military plane. If they repaint him in a better color scheme, I might get him, but I'm not sure.

 

I just checked out the case assortments on bbts. 1 of each in wave 5 and then no dark steel in wave 5 rev 1?

This makes me sad.

 

I said on RELEASE, not weeks and weeks earlier like most of the DotM toys.

There was basically nothing in the toyline to capitalize on the release. I realize that you can't count on distributors to get things out very promptly...and yet, hard to argue that wave 5 and 6 aren't timed to synergize with the home video release.

 

Well I guess this confirms that Topspin repaint is not Twin Twist.

I dig the demonic samurai helmet style on Darksteel, but I just can't get around the fact that I HATE the look of the convertible Corvette. It just looks like someone stole the roof.

So what is this... the 3rd distinctly samurai-themed Decepticon? Funny how the bad guys always seem to get the samurai schticks.

We always knew this was a same-character redeco. Twin Twist is coming with Deluxe Leadfoot at Target.

Samurai are awesome. Decepticons are awesome. All there is to it.

Air Raid doesn't look that bad imo. It's just a missed opportunity to
use a more realistic interpretation of his G1 colour scheme.

 

I hate how they repaint molds, bring on some new ones please! these all look like crap.
